From Cookware Insert to Altered Art Project -

Packaging from a set of cookware becomes an altered art project in the form of a wall hanging. This mixed media project involves paint, collage, fabric and paper flowers.

From Cookware Insert to Altered Art Project

Did you ever come across an interesting item that just begs to be made into something pretty but you’re not sure what. My friend gave me a set of cookware for my birthday and these things were part of the packing. So when I saw them I just knew that something nice have to come from this. Share Jeremy on my journey because I have no idea how this is going to end up. Well, this is my first step I have painted this thing with paint. It’s a bluish gold paint. It’s Lumiere and it’s halo blue gold. This is actually a fabric paint and I bought it at Michael’s in where they have fabric paints. Mix quite a stunning color. I don’t know if it will show up now but this is a lovely color. Now to move on to the next step, now that at this point I’ve added a picture to be inside, this was a birthday card I received that I quite like so I cut it the picture and I have glued it down using Mod Podge and also given it a couple of layers of Mod Podge on the surface to seal the picture. The card had some words that I’ve cut it and attached. This one says breathe, and this one says believe and over here there’s one that says receive. So that’s where I am so far but I’m not finished yet. I believe my next step is going to involve using this silvery metallic stuff, I don’t know what you call it but it’s quite attractive, it’s silver, it sparkles and it has little stars on it. Now this is my alter dark project. I’ve added the silver paper or whatever it was and I’ve added some white flowers and hang it on the wall. In real life it’s fairly attractive. I don’t know how it looks in this video. If you wanted this to be functional, you could also set it flat on the table and fill this center with candies or a candle or a flower pot or something like that. So I think you could make similar rather attractive Valentine say craft projects or Halloween projects as well with this kind of an idea.
