Have you ever been sitting in a meeting and all of the sudden of the sudden heard that your mother’s voice fly out of your mouth. Or maybe negotiating with the sales rep and all of the sudden you realized that you were using the same tactics with this rep that you used on your 4 year old this morning when they want it to have Oreo cookies for breakfast.
If you started to become aware this little signs of motherhood entering into the workplace then you are starting to tap into an amazing resource and your head of the game.
My name is Michelle Yozzo Drake and I am the CEO of an executive coaching firm and author from the kitchen to the corner office, mom’s wisdom on leadership. The reason that I wrote this book is to be able to give women the tools that they need to be able to be the leaders that tomorrow’s challenges are going to require.
Now by tapping into some of the basic simple truth from mom, her specific brand of lipstick leadership. We can really bring with us to the work place that dimension that previously just has not been there.
“A master storyteller, Michelle couples the wisdom of motherhood with practical, real world leadership application.”

Co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul series and New York Best Selling Author
This book is structure with the mom’s story focusing on a simple truth that one of the mom figures in my life has taught me whether it is a mother, a sister, a favorite untie, my grandmother, my mother-in-law. They have all taught me amazing lessons and it is taking those lessons. Lessons like how to prepare holiday meal, baking bread with the Aunt Jenny.
My mother-in-law Marty trying to get 12 kids out of the household with only one bathroom, every morning. Lessons like these, they can bring you simple truth, and they can help you be better prepared at work uncoupling those stories with the business case study a way that we have applied these stories in the work place with real life coaching situations.
“In a world where there is arguably too much information but not enough that truly informs, this book is an eye opener.”

Former Senior Editor for The Harvard Business Review and Co-author of The Leadership Legacy
Is it not exciting to be at a moment in time where women are poise to lead this country, to lead the country from the perspective of politics, corporations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions? We are at the time where women are stepping into rules that are going to have huge cultural impact on us and one of the reasons why I wrote this book was that I wanted to be able to help this women tack into something that is uniquely ours, that is feminine perspective. The perspective that we as mothers and as sister and as Aunties and as grandmothers, and as daughters have been able to cultivate and have been able to be aware of and in to be midst of greatness from all of this different female perspective in our lives.
These perspectives translate quite easily over into the workplace. Things like negotiating, communicating with clarity, motivating teams, leading teams, operating on a budget, organizing our structures so that we can have maximum results, these are all things that the CEO of the organization we call the family has done for years. That CEO is mom and that is why I wrote the book from the kitchen to the corner office, mom’s wisdom leadership. Because that is about time we started we started listening to our mom instead of leaving it at the door.
“Michelle is insightful book helped me rediscover and recognize all the essential tools I need (and have) to evolve without reinventing myself. The miracle of this book lies in its power to silence our doubts, embolden our esteem, and ultimately listen to the voice of our own intuition.”

Lessons on how to negotiate for results, how to communicate with clarity; how to be able to motivate maybe an unmanageable team; how to be able to cultivate leaders in all of the people that you interact with. Because is not each of our responsibilities to groom tomorrow’s leaders.
So grab a couple of coffee and join my in my mothers kitchen as we take at look at what mom knows about leadership that can help you drive you better results in your career today.
