Sarah Jagger: Hi! I am Sarah Jagger and welcome to Mummy Makeover, the show where we beautify busy moms. We know that you have your hands full with tiny tearaways and don't have as much time to spend on your hair and makeup that you use to, that's why we come in. Gary France is a top stylist with hair dresser Toni & Guy. He'll get to work on your hair. And I am a professional makeup artist. I can make you beautiful.
Meet Nicole Heigert. In the morning, she spends 20 minutes on her make up. Her favorite makeup product, is mascara and she says, she hates her freckles. Nicole, welcome to Mummy Makeover.
Sarah Jagger: Hi! Nicole.
Nicole Heigert: Hi! Sarah.
Sarah Jagger: Nicole, tell me a little bit about yourself.
Nicole Heigert: I'm 35 years old. I married to an Asian called Loretto (ph) and two months ago I had a little baby daughter called Ana Messavis (ph).
Sarah Jagger: What would you like to take away from today, regarding your makeup? What kind of look would you love to achieve?
Nicole Heigert: Something really sexy, like an evening makeup, because I don't know how to put that sexy makeup on my face. I have a bit of a problem with that.
Sarah Jagger: Great. That's fun for me an evening makeup.
Nicole Heigert: Yes.
Sarah Jagger: And hair. Tell me about, what you would like to do with your hair?
Nicole Heigert: Something easy, but many new mothers actually, cut off their hairs. So I don't want to have something easy and short. But something sexy and nice and fluffy. Let's see.
Sarah Jagger: Playful.
Nicole Heigert: Yes, playful.
Sarah Jagger: Great. Well, I'll let you talk to Gary about, that let me take you to meet him.
Nicole Heigert: Great.
Sarah Jagger: Hi Gary! This is Nicole.
Gary France: Hi! Nicole.
Nicole Heigert: Hi! Gary.
Gary France: Come on, have a seat.
Sarah Jagger: Now, Nicole is looking for a cut that is not too short. But a style that's quite simple, quite sexy and quite playful, I think. I'll let Nicole, tell you more about that, and I'll come back and see you later.
Gary France: So something sexy and playful. What's your color history, just tell me about that?
Nicole Heigert: Well, I had blonde highlights for years and it went dark about, five months ago, because I was kind of fed up with blonde all the time.
Gary France: I love -- yours is a brunette I think that's really great and I wouldn't want to change that too much. Are you happy to stay this color? Yeah, yeah I think it's a really -- and I think it's really current, really nice in it. So yeah, I think we should get rid of a lot of this length where it's drier and what I really like is all this hair through here. I think that's really interesting, if we take that away. Already you have got an interesting shape and texture working.
Fringe wise, I think -- I don't know, I think maybe keep that quite long as well, so you can maybe tuck that if you want to or being it out and make it more playful, if you want too as well.
I think now to get rid, you have to cut out the length, work again, with very long choppy layers. So it's really very soft and sexy through the length. And then, if you had grown your Fringe that again, it's just broken up. It's really quite loose and you can push out the way or you can wear it, almost a bit chicky and that kind of thing, I think that would be great.
Nicole Heigert: Great.
Gary France: Okay. Let's get started.
Sarah Jagger: Nicole has a quick wash and conditioned before going back to Gary. Although, she is dead set against having short hair. She has agreed to have quite a lot of cutoff.
Gary France: Okay Nicole, so we're using the razor. Alright, this is a specially designed hair razor, safety razor and all I'm doing, the reason for is to, we get this really nice broken kind of texture, rather than a straight line. We should make it very classic and I see you, it's been a bit more funky. So we just simply, we still work quite technically through, but we get a very broken out result, a very shattered feeling to the ends of the hair.
Sarah Jagger: Half an hour later and Gary finishes of the styling with the blow dry. Hello!
Gary France: Hi!
Sarah Jagger: Wow! Nicole. You wanted sexy, you certainly you got it. Tell me about, the cut Gary?
Gary France: Well, the idea was that, we wanted to get rid of all the dead ends through the back area. So we used a razor and just took all of that really soft and sexy, shattered, I had trimmed it. Created this new length. Leaving the front a little longer, so you get this really interesting focal point through there. The Fringe we cuts kept it very long, I mean, we utilize the length that was already there. So she can reverse the Fringe from side-to-side.
Sarah Jagger: And I love this sort of asymmetric cut, you've got down at an angle there, it's fantastic.
Gary France: Yeah, there's a really link towards the 60's at the moment and I felt that, that would be a really nice. I mean, she is a funky mom I think. She is a really -- even though she is mother, she is kind of really still interested in fashion, she is very stylish and so would want to get a catch of that, bring that out and there as well, it gives a new shape.
Sarah Jagger: Well, I love it. Nicole, what do you think?
Nicole Heigert: I absolutely adore it.
Sarah Jagger: Fantastic. Well, we've done your hair. Let's get into the makeup chamber.
Nicole Heigert: Okay.
Sarah Jagger: Nicole, you've told me that you'd quite like an evening makeup and some tips on how to do that. Now you've got quite a sexy 60 style, hairstyle and I think it would be nice to give you a little bit of 60 style eye makeup too. I'm going to do. We start off, by using a long lasting makeup.
I think that if you're going out at night. It's a always handy to have something that does have a bit of staying power . I am going to use a liquid makeup, that is actually quite long lasting. I think it's good to have something fairly stay proof. I like to apply this with a slightly damp sponge, because what it does is it helps, to just blend the makeup that little bit more, evenly. It makes it -- I want it just about bit more shade. Now how do you find your skin tone?
Nicole Heigert: Quite difficult. I get quite some a few spots over my mouth and I don't know, really how to conceal them without getting more, sun damage, freckles.
Sarah Jagger: I think freckles are great. I love freckles. I think they suit you and I am actually, keeping your makeup purposefully sheer, so they can shine through.
Now when you got spots on the chin area, it's usually a hormonal issue. Now there is not much you can do, with your makeup to counteract that. What you can do, is cover it with something that's oil free. Using an oil free makeup will stop pores from cloaking as easily.
Now I'm going to use concealer and the coverage that you need is on the chin, little bit down in the middle of the nose, right, and that corner of each eye. We're using the translucent powder, because a translucent powder ensures, that you're not going to change the color of the foundation that you are putting on. Basically, they are to takes away shine.
I'm using a dark brown just concentrating on the outer arc to give the finishing. Comb through to soften any pencil marks and brow gel is kind of like a hair gel for the eyebrows. I'm going half way along. I don't want to go all the way along under the eye, because what that does is it narrows the eye together, just make sure that you are softening the line to make it more nice to make it real nice and smushy.
The trick is to make sure that your eyeliner is dark and your eye lid is pale. Let's use a paler eye color, to blend the gray eye shadow down and soften anything above the crease. Drop the paint of the color on to your eye lid, let's color your lashes with black mascara. A sparkling lip gloss can really give the illusion of larger lips.
Nicole, you came in here today looking for some sexy evening eye makeup, some fun and plateful hair. This is what you look like this morning. Nicole, this is what you look like now.
Nicole Heigert: Amazing, completely different.
Sarah Jagger: Have you enjoyed your time at Mummy Makeover?
Nicole Heigert: Oh, absolutely amazing. Thank you.
Sarah Jagger: Thank you.
