Okay, in this video we are going to look at how to make an animated sprite off of a sprite sheet. What I am going to start off is, is simply going to add a sprite, I am going to do Edit Sprite. In my sprite editor and I am going to create from a strip. I will go ahead and get my sprite sheet, as you can see this is it and I pulled up my sprite images for my sprite sheet. Now you simply will go through and answer each one of these questions. How many images do I have? One, two, three, four, five, six, alright six images, how many images are there on a row? Well there is a little trickier, this has four images, this has two, we are going to use the largest number which is four and if you've noticed my squares now, match up closer to the setup that this is.
I want to know how wide and how high the image is. I am going to try 60X60. No, it need to be a little bit wider, we'll try 80, 85 and it looks like I still need a little more room there. Let's go and put it to 95 and that looks like I have it, perfect and as you can see my first box contains my first guy.
Now however, I need to shift these boxes down and I am going to do that through the horizontal separation. 20 is not going to be enough, 30 is not enough, we will try 33 or 35, adjust over just a little more, I'll try 37 and there we go. Looks like they all fit in. Now I got to drop these two boxes down, I'll use that using the vertical separation. 50 is not enough, 75 looks pretty good, 75 actually looks pretty good, I am going to make my width 97 just so I can get a little bit more in. Okay now, so I go ahead and click OK, it has saved each of my sub images, now I ask to show a preview, that is what my sprite will look like.
And then I just simply go ahead and make my object, offer that sprite, put it a room and we have our running lion that I can then control I want. Hope this video helped you in understanding in how to make animated sprites of the sprite sheet. Enjoy creating your games.
