I rarely saw the Najdorf in tournament play. I always loved it when black played the Sicilian against me, because I used to see the accelerated dragon so often in tournaments that I would try to convert all Sicilian variations into a form of it. Then after I neutralize his e-pawn, which usually occurs after I move d4-d5, resulting in an exchange at some point, I find a way to put my knight on d5, blocking his d6 pawn, and keeping my knight centralized. I play the rest of my game to keep his minor pieces from capturing that knight. I had way more wins than losses by pursuing that position. However, I was weak in other variations of Sicilian, with Accelerated Dragon being my best. Of course, I would sometimes mix it up with Levenfish, or an f3 against repeat opponents. Unfortunately, I haven't been involved in competitions in about 3 or 4 years and am rusty :(
