Hi! It's Megan; I am going to show you the basics of attacking in Gears of War.
If you press down on right trigger, you will shoot your active weapon, which can be visible in the upper right portion of the screen. In this case this is the Lancer machine gun. If you press down, the rounds will fire.
Now good thing to know is if you press the right button here, your character will reload, and good thing to notice before I hit the button, a counter will show in the upper right portion of the screen. If you press the right button again during the right movement, you will get what is called active reload and if you get it right on the white portion, you will get a power bonus.
Now, as well if you hold the left trigger, your character will zoom in, so you get a different angle on your fire.
