Hey everyone! This is John again; today we are going to do the song Troubadour by George Strait. This song is in the key of B but you play it in the G formation and it makes it so much easier for you to capo for it.
So we are going to put a capo on the fourth fret, right here. I am going to play this in the G formation. The intro -- this song is actually pretty easy, and it sounds like this, that's it. What I am doing is I am taking my first finger on hammer-on the second fret of my third string from the top which is the D string, just like that, and while I am doing that I am also playing my D string, like here, playing together.
So I go and then play it open, now I am tasking my second finger and I have put it on the third fret of my E string, right there. And I am going to play that note while I am also playing my D string. So those two strings, we have -- now I am going to take my first finger, I am going to put it on the second fret of my E string, right there. So we have -- now I am going to play both the strings open, my A and my B string like that. And now I am going to play the G chord. The intro in the song, give you kind of idea that how smooth it sounds like.
So you get an idea of how it goes in to the verse. Now let's talk about how it's going to go into the chords. After we are done with the chords, you are going to play the intro part actually over. So I just play the chords and go into the intro and show you how it comes in. Just like that.
And I am going to play the end chords and then go back into the verse like we did before. One of the things I am doing is I am strumming actually because as you know I am going off and I am coming back on, going off, coming back on, do that a lot and I like the way it sounds.
It kind of gives you it a nice player to it when you are continually pulling off and hammering back on, add some flavor to it, just kind of doll. But when I do this, the sound is going to pull off better. So remember the strumming pattern, remember the riff, the intro riff and this song is sung great on acoustic guitar.
