German Beer Bath
Dr. Travis Stork: So as everyone can see I’m here on a procedure and I’m trying
something else from Europe. This is called the German beer
bath. I can’t wait to try it. It’s been on spas all around
Germany. They say it can soothe your skin with B vitamins,
biotin as well as protein compounds. So what do you use? You
use a little bit of brewed yeast so it will double do you? Guys I
feel like I’m brewing beer back here.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: There you go.
Dr. Jim Sears: Yeah.
Dr. Travis Stork: So we got a little wheat. You need wheat to make beer, and the
last but not the least you guys know I love a Happy beer.
Dr. Jim Sears: Oh yeah.
Dr. Travis Stork: So I made two and a few extra half there we go.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: That’s a little more than a two extra.
Dr. Drew Ordon: That’s my milk bubble bath.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: Yeah.
Dr. Travis Stork: You know what? A Happy beer is a good beer. It’s supposed to
be warm and bubbly but of course, last but not the least, a dark
German beer to get things nice and warm. That smells
interesting. And then before you get in, you have to take your
robe off.
I can do this a little different but later they do in Germany.
Dr. Drew Ordon: And you’ll never know if you are dirty.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: Yeah, that’s right.
Dr. Jim Sears: Right.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: Is it cold?
Dr. Travis Stork: No, it’s warm. You’ve got to save a little beer for yourself,
right?
Dr. Jim Sears: Yeah.
Dr. Drew Ordon: He’s just having too much fun back there.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: No, my gosh, what’s that?
Dr. Jim Sears: Does it remind you of your frat days Travis?
Dr. Travis Stork: I’m pretty sure I never took a beer bath in college, but I will
say this, being around that you know all these hops and the
beer. It smells nice and of course, if you have a beer to enjoy
with you. I can really understand how this could be a big hit in
Germany.
Dr. Drew Ordon: It’s not just sitting in the tub but a study that came out of --
University said that drinking beer in light to moderate amounts
can actually be good for you Dr. T.
Dr. Travis Stork: Moderation is key right Drew?
Dr. Drew Ordon: Well, that’s it. The study said two things that surprisingly may
help bone density and it may actually help prevent dementia so
here I go.
Dr. Jim Sears: I have a question for the audience.
Dr. Travis Stork: You’re drinking out there without me.
Dr. Jim Sears: Are there any ladies here that want to go join Travis?
Dr. Drew Ordon: Let’s start selling Travis.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: I think there’s a lot but back to the health part because we’re
doctors. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and
Alcoholism actually said yes. Moderate usage of a beer
actually will decrease by 40% to 60% heart disease so women
that moderate use means just one cup a day, one glass a day
and for men up to two glasses of beer a day.
Dr. Jim Sears: Yeah.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Cheers to our bottom’s up.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: So here’s one, here you go.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Cheers Travis.
Dr. Travis Stork: Because I have to say you know certainly I’ve enjoyed this
beer bath, but I think I’m going to stick to having my beer two
in a day for heart health. I don’t think I’m going to keep
bathing in this room very long. Is it okay if I come and join
you?
Dr. Lisa Masterson: Come on back.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Travis come back up here and finished the show.
