Zelana: Beyonce known for her ever changing style. Her look on the Grammy’s carpet
was a slick and sophisticated with just a touch of rocker glitz. This sparkling due
is the brain child of her celebrity secret weapon Kimberly Kimble.
What inspired you to create Beyonce’s red carpet Grammy look?
Kimberly: Well there were two reasons why we end up doing the head that we did, the first
was she wanted her hair that was going to move for her performance. She wants
to be whipping that hair around, so of course either something very slick and
straight works for that. And the dress she wore was very structure with, so the
pass and had a lots of detail in the dress with in ones over power the dress.
So the first thing we did was we blow dry the hair straight. Most of the time the
hair and the roots are very healthy but it’s the end that have a tendency to get
really dry and brittle, so I'm putting a little bit of leaving conditioner.
So the secret to getting really great straight hair is you want to start off with the
paddle brush because that going to make it really flat and its going to really help
straighten the hair.
So the next step we’re going to do is really define part. We’re going to pick which
side looks best with your face and you know what it’s the same side like Beyonce
had hers on.
So now we’re going to flat iron and sort of get really bone straight slick. If you
have thicker hair or very much more course of curly hair, you’ll take smaller
section.
Zelana: You work with Beyonce all the time, what its like to be with her?
Kimberly: She’s very professional, she knows what she wants, collaborated when she comes
in, rehearses. We have a chance to see what the performance is going to be like.
Zelana: So a lot of her hairstyle comes from actually looking at her performance to see
how it’s going to moves.
Kimberly: Yeah performance and clothes.
So you got a couple of fly away, I’m going to smooth it out with a little bit of
serum just like I did with Beyonce so her hair can look flawless in the red carpet.
Last but not the least the hair tense is going to give an extra sparkle. To really
show this off you want to put them when the hair is already parting. You take just
a little like maybe six strands of your hair, very small section. Take two pieces of
the tensile put it into a loop, wrap it around the hair and pull the end into the loop
and then just squeeze it all the way down into the base and tie it into a little knot.
So what do you think?
Zelana: Am I ready to party with the single ladies?
Kimberly: Honey with this hair you won’t be single long.
Zelana: I’m Zelana thanks for watching bellaTV, stay beautiful.
