Jay Manuel: Hey it’s Jay with style her famous. Watch as I show you how to get the JLo glow.
And your skin is very, very even but if you look at your face, you can see that it’s lighter in this inner region and it’s darker all on that outer region, right?
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: And almost everybody’s faces like that. But to create the real illusion of the smooth even canvass. Well actually if they use two different shades of foundation. So we’re going to use a slightly lighter shade on the inside and then the darker shade on the outside but then the illusion is, it will be one tone. Jennifer is afraid of wearing foundation, especially because she’s a little dark under the eye.
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: So, it’s learning about highlighting through and transcending that based out. You’ll notice, I’m using very little foundation on the outer area of your skin. A lot of women feel that they have to use foundation everywhere to say that they’re wearing foundation, really only to put it where you need it and that’s important to remember. So you don’t need to put it on like wall to wall carbon. You okay?
Leilani Evans: Yes.
Jay Manuel: Anything that’s important to remember is because JLo is really smart about highlighting under her under eye.
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: So it really gives you that look; an instant face lift. Not saying that you need a face lift because definitely look young but when you highlight under the eye, it just picks the face up.
One of my favorite products by Classified Cosmetics is the spray shimmer, it’s called, we’re giving you the number 3 by the sea because you have a nice, warm tone and all you do is hold it in the middle of your face, close your eyes though and just spray it.
One other thing is you can always take a little powder and highlight below your cheekbone. Now have you ever heard of that before?
Leilani Evans: No.
Jay Manuel: And I know it looks weird. It looks like you’re, the products I’ve tried.
Leilani Evans: Maybe, yeah.
Jay Manuel: But if you notice, this is a way of highlighting underneath because we didn’t put a lot of foundation there. Do you know how it actually brings the depth of your cheekbone out? It almost looks like I contoured your cheeks.
Leilani Evans: Right, I see it now.
Jay Manuel: It’s actually a reverse technique. It is especially with women with women with darker complexions. You highlight underneath then you won’t end up like looking like you got this mud stripes on the side of your face by really trying to contour in. So it uses your natural skin tone to define your own cheeks. When you put lashes on, the best thing is we can’t see we put the glue on right?
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: Let the glue almost dry. Then if you’re putting among yourselves, you lean your head back and look down your nose. What it does is allows you to flatten your lash down and you can lay it in right at the edge of your lash bed. That way, if it’s totally dry, it will just go on and grab right away. Whereas if the lash is wet, you put it on your blink, it will lift off.
And then I usually use, believe it or not, it’s the cheapest tool in my kit. A Bobbypin just straightened out, it helps you push the lash down. We’re just going to use a little bit of blush. Miss JLo’s more eye brush, she’s more about glow.
I’m going to use a brown liner just to give your lips a little definition and then we’re going to do the light gloss.
Now notice I’ve been using a slightly darker, warmer version of what Jennifer wears just because it will work better with your skin tone. So how do you feel about this for your whole, just your day look? It’s just very simple, pretty.
Leilani Evans: It’s easy, yeah,
Jay Manuel: It’s a lash but.
Leilani Evans: No, I like the lash.
Jay Manuel: It makes a statement.
Leilani Evans: Actually, I really like it. It’s different. It takes it to a level of simplicity like you said but professionalism as well, I mean it’s just, truly pretty, I feel like girl.
Jay Manuel: And it’s gilded.
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: You’ve got bronzer just like JLo has. You have the glow like JLo has; the lash, the lip.
Leilani Evans: Right.
Jay Manuel: And that’s how anyone can get the Jennifer Lopez makeup look.
