Get Twittering - Twitter for Beginners - #7 - Twitter's Homepage Layout
Welcome back to the Twitter for Beginners Series.
On your Twitter Stream Page, you’ll see different links that will show you different kinds of information. The following will show you all of the people that you are currently following in Twitter. Followers shows you the people that are following you and updates shows everything that you’ve posted.
Right now we’re viewing my Twitter homepage. The @Replies tab will show everyone who has posted something to Twitter but referred to you by placing an @ symbol before your user name. To learn more about posting to Twitter, check out episode six in the series.
The Direct Message section is where all of your private messages are stored. These are messages that people have sent to only me and not through the regular Twitter timeline. You can send someone a direct message just by selecting them and then entering in your message.
You can see the direct messages you’ve sent here. Your Favorites is where you can find updates or Tweets as are known that you want to easily find later. To favor a tweet, just click on the star. The Everyone section will allow you to view tweets or updates from everyone around the world who’s using Twitter and has made to profile public.
Here you can quickly turn your mobile phone updates on or off. If at anytime you want to delete one of your tweets then just click on the trashcan icon but that will only delete it from your profile. If it’s been sent, chances are someone has already seen it.
Remember, there are ten parts to this series so don’t forget to check out the other episodes in the Twitter for Beginners Series.
