Welcome back to the Twitter for Beginners Series. After you start using Twitter for a while and create a community with your fellow twitter friends, you may begin to notice that a lot of information is being shared about all kinds of different topics. There’s a way you can look for people talking about specific topics and even see if their talking about you by using Twitter Search.
To access Twitter Search, go to search.twitter.com. It’s really easy to use just enter in whatever topic you’re interested in. All you have to do is to search to see if anyone’s talking about pizza. So here are all the people who use twitter and I’ve included the word “Pizza” in their updates.
Every time when the new result comes up you can refresh to see it. You can also refine your search and add an area like searching for Pizza at San Francisco or Pizza in New York. Your search terms will be in bold. You can choose to only you twit in a specific language and have twits translated.
You can also seek trends on topics people are searching for and nifty searches. If you want to share these results with your twitter community, you can choose Twitter These Results and a link will automatically be put into your update area so all you need to do is click on Update.
If you use a Feed Reader, you can subscribe to the Feed and be updated about any new results. There’s also an advanced search that allows you to look for exact words, people, places, dates and even attitudes.
Remember there are ten parts to this series so don’t forget to check out the other episodes in the Twitter for beginners Series.
