Jay Manuel: Hey! I’m Jay with Style Her Famous and I’m going to show you how to get Natalie Portman’s smoldering look.
In terms of foundation, the foundation you’re wearing before probably a little to pale, right? And that was obviously intentional, correct? Well now that we’ve got kind of this warmer brown going on, I mean, I still want to be able, I still want you to feel that you’ve got coverage so go ahead and definitely conceal under your eyes, but then in terms of the overall skin complexion, we want to use two foundation colors so that we keep the more natural, radiance to the skin because Natalie loves that very touchable, kind of see through skin so it feels pretty and refreshing.
Darbi Gwynn: And I can use the same color for my eyes and the rest of my face? You think it’s good?
Jay Manuel: Well notice there’s two tones in this palette. So, I’m using the lighter tone under your eye and then the darker tone, I’m using around your hairline and then the darker tone, you can even use on your lids.
Natalie Portman doesn’t really wear a ton of powder and you’ve got this nice kind of glow and radiant skin right now, so really all I’m going to use is just a little bit of bronzer which is really going to be a change for you because you used to going more pale, we’re going to go more warm.
So, all I’m going to do is literally take it along your hairline, on the temples and down the cheek bones, only a bit top bring them out because you got pretty cheeks and we know Natalie Portman’s got beautiful cheek bones.
So, let’s continue with this eye. Again, we’re working mostly with kind of neutral tones because during the day, Natalie does not wear heavy eye makeup. Again, it’s a smoldery look but it’s within a nice and neutral palette.
So, I’m just using a shimmery highlighter in the brow bone. You’ve got amazing lashes and I can not wait to bring those out because I think that’s another thing again, that’s adds to the whole Natalie smoldery eye look, it’s like heavy mascara with the lashes curled, really, really makes it up most.
I mean, you can see this eye shadow, right? It’s really soft, but once we add the mascara, it’s totally going to pop. And to continue this whole smudgy smoldery look, I’m just taking the same eye shadow and just smudging it beneath your eyes so it’s not a line, it’s not a harsh liner but again it’s soft.
I’m just going to do one coat of the mascara and then I’m going to curl your lashes. We just started the mascara. So we’ll let that dry, curl it, then do the bottom lashes, but the mean time, we’re actually going to work on your cheeks.
Darbi Gwynn: Okay.
Jay Manuel: So now, I’m actually going to use this cream blush because again, Natalie is all about that fresh face, that touchable skin that looks natural.
A lot people are afraid of cream because they think it makes them look greasy, but it actually makes your skin look more radiant. I’m just going to put on the apple of your cheeks. Natalie loves that kind of soft, kind of rosebud mouth. So we’re not using a liner because I don’t want it to look harsh. Just blot it in.
So now, we’re going to follow through with just a little pink gloss, this one’s actually barekiss, so it’s going to give you that really soft kissable lip for the bad girl and the good girl in everyone.
And remember, don’t be afraid of black eyeliner. All it takes a subtle smudge to look as sexy as Natalie Portman.
