Ruth: 6000 francs for seven golf clubs?
Remy: It’s so expensive. We will never play golf again.
John: Well, you know, you two, you’re awful, you’ve realized what you have done. You’ve just gone and picked up the two most expensive clubs.
Ruth: Well, they were the prettiest though.
John: Yeah, another prettiest, okay.
Remy: It’s so expensive.
John: Yes they are. There is rather a lot of import duty on these clubs, the American clubs, they’re being much less expensive in America, but if you come over to this part of the shop, I can show you something that isn’t so expensive, okay. We have a large variety of equipment for beginners as well.
Remy: That's a World equipment.
John: Yeah, these are beginners clubs here. These are half sets, half sets there, those two up there and that would cost you about 1500 francs. This would be 2 Woods, in fact less 1300. 2 Woods, 5 Irons and a putter and this would then go in one of these small bags, like this you see. Something like this, okay and you just put that on your shoulder, that's right. So that would keep the cost right down and one thing I should tell you Remy and Ruth, is that if you go and buy your equipment from the golf pro and you should always go and check with him first. He is not going to sell you the most expensive equipment in the shop. He is going to be kind with you, he is going to check, what you can afford to pay, obviously.
As both of you are not yet in the high income bracket, let say that you’re going to have a half set of clubs or even a decent set of second hand clubs, okay. We start you off for that. As your game develops and as you start to take on a more maturity, then you’ll probably have as well a little bit money in your pockets and then you go back to your golf pro, you put yourself in his hands and he will advice you.
