Penny Halgren: Thanksgiving is coming up and instead of doing something about turkey I decided this time I would do something about goose. So here we have a Goose Track Quilt Block and this one is kind of fun and easy to put together. I got all of my pieces cut out so join me at the sawing machine. This is Penny Halgren from quiltblocklibrary.com and quiltblocklibrary.tv. Thanks for joining me.
This is a block quilt can be divided into sections and each one of this corner sections is the same. So instead of laying them all out what I done is quick them and put the pieces all in one stock. So the first thing I am going to do is so this will patch together because that’s going to make a square and then also this together. So, I’ll do is start by summing this two and then also all of this patches together and then we will work on the next step. I got the square and the triangle sum together and you know my next step is these two little sets to triangles together. So they don’t fit in the bottom and part of that square. Now, I am going to saw this together and then I’ll be ready to complete this little square. Now, I’ve all with this sum together I can just fold this down and at this and then will have a little unit in the center.
When I got this units but what I need to do is attach this triangles onto the side so my next step will be attached those. And now I’m ready to add this other triangle, now complete this little unit the sum is going to add down to the other side. So this part and these triangles need to be attached so I’m just going to take this base on right sides together and so down in the center. Now, just to open this up and so this are the units on and there is going to be a little bit turkey matching of the tips but just a quarter of an inch and there should be a little quarter of an inch tip that hangs out that side and then stitch the one side. Now let’s add this other shape on to the other side, and then that center section will be finish.
Now, we’ve got the sections sum together and so can just start sawing them together to make one big patch. So, the first thing I need to do is take this piece of triangle and put it right sides together into the center section and the just stitch down to the center. And now I’m ready to add the bottom triangle one and that’s pretty straight forward then we will have that full square done. Now, that each one of this corner patches are done we can lay the whole quilt block out and I’ll just start sawing this in sections so I’m going to saw this fit patches together and I will train to them and leave them attach. And the next step is to attach this patches on the other side to this group that we’ve already sound together. Just two more seems and this quilt block is finish so we will just sawing the top section to the center and then once that’s done I will saw the bottom to the center. Alright goose quilt block is all done and ready for a quilt, this are making interesting a little Thanksgiving quilt instead of some turkey, turkey in the draw something like that. Hope you enjoyed making this quilt, thanks for joining me. This is Penny Halgren from quiltbooklibrary.com and quiltbooklibrary.tv.
