Leila: I you don't know how to spend your shopping dollars this holiday season, check out a charity gift catalog.
Choosing a four legged present has a unique impact on recipient’s abroad. I am Leila for wathcmojo.com, joining me now Marie-Eve Bertrand from World Vision. Do and tell some bit about donating farm animals.
Marie-Eve Bertrand: Yes, of course. Well the goal of World Vision through their gift catalog is really to give people, to give a meaningful gift. This is the catalog.
Leila: What are the price ranges for these kind of gifts? How much are the farm animals?
Marie-Eve Bertrand: It starts at $35 and goes up to $600 for a cow like a goat would be about a $100 but you don’t pay only for the goat right? You pay for the goat and some training for the family. We help them. We make sure that the goat is healthy and then we provide some food, shelter, so it's really great. It's a complete gift
Leila: And then people can donate the babies of the cow.
Marie-Eve Bertrand: Yes that's how it works of course. Let's say we give you an alpaca. You’re in need and we give you an alpaca then we invite people to donate after that so you got one then you have babies, you’re going to give one to a family that's also in great need.
Leila: And why are more and more people are adding charity gifts to their wish lists?
Marie-Eve Bertrand: We do the survey on that and people realize that they are lucky and they want to change some else’s life, and really be able to make a difference and people love those animals right? They are so cute.
People go online, buy an alpaca. I love that. Do something. Make a difference at Christmas time this year. Thank you.
Leila: No, thank you.
