Lea: Welcome to watchmojo.com, I’m Lea. We’re here at Mythos, a Greek restaurant and we’re going to talk about Greek cuisine with Mr. Dimitri Galanes.
Dimitri: Greek cuisine as you know is very old. And it’s a simple cuisine but it goes back for thousands of years.
We start with a salad of course, this type of salad or in winter time we have other salad like lettuce green salad. We have little appetizers like small lily fish or calamare or spanacopita. And that they use a lot of fish and lot of sea products like calamare or octopus, shrimps and all kinds of fish. And also, as Greeks, we have a lot of lamb and goat, baby goat. Of course today we veal and pork and all the other chicken.
The beauty of the Greek cuisine is that it’s simple. Doctors believe that one of the reasons that people in Greece, they live long and they don’t have disease like heart problems and other. Almost like, we do have, but not in percentage like that.
All Greek they believe comes out because of the cuisine. And one of the main, main secrets in that cuisine is the olive oil.
