Hey, what is up everybody? I am David Todd and welcome to another clip of the week, how about we play a Green Day today. Let us do a little a good riddance, Time of your life, okay. The chords, only four chords in the whole song, different combinations of G major, C9, D major, E minor, that is it. There is only four chords you are going to need. Now on CD and the record you kind of arpeggio the chords meaning, you mix a single note, you would strumming like, [Guitar Playing] for some variations of that.
Do not worry about that, if you are just starting out, you want to get playing and having fun. Do not worry about your arpeggio; we will get to that later. For now, just strum all the chords. For the most part one measure per chord on most of the verses and let us just use a simple strum, 8th note. So it will just go [Guitar Playing]
That is the measure down-down, up-up, down up, one two and three and four
Okay? Down, down and up up down and up
So that is the strum we are going to use. So the intro for the song is just G to C9 and to D, but stays on the G for two measures, sounds like this [Guitar Playing].
C9, D and repeat that whole thing, G, C9, D then go to the songs. G, another turning point, C9, D and repeat it again for time grabs by the wrist. G, C9, D, now E minor so make the best of this. Last is D, C9, G, D minor starting out questions(ph) D, C9, lessen G this time. D minor G, E minor in the end. G is right, D minor, G time of your life, back in the beginning. C9, G.
This is the whole song; you just go through that same set of changes that I just went over with you and remember it is, Green Day is very punk influence. So this songs is not aggressive as their other stuff but, for with Paullina(ph), play with attitude. You got to attitude it up because that is what punk is about all right, lots of attitude.
And there is an interlude on the song but same basic changes except it stays on the D chord for four measures during the interlude. And on the live version they plays a little guitar solo there so, that is it. It is not a very complex song. Get that down slow, get all the changes and then we will get into the RPG8(ph) on all right, and make sound just perfect. Rock on and practice up, see you in the next scope of the week.
