Green Vegetarian Smoothie Recipe
Betty: So I am with Kim Slider the founder of Envision Beauty and she is going to be teaching us how to make a green smoothie and a rock a couch ruffle today.
Kim: And the Green Smoothie is the basis of the raw diet, since I am mostly raw food is. So we are going to start with the raw main and then you are going to take a glass of water.
So next I am going to add celery and I am going to put the apple. And you can use green apple, red apple - again it really has to do with your taste but I do encourage rotating everything. In this I use cals sometimes I use red lettuce, just so you are getting a huge variety of fruit and vegetables in that.
But sometimes I put parsley as well which is also be the detoxifier and has a lot of chromium in it which helps your body break down sugar for the rest of the day.
Lemon - specifically supports your liver, it helps thin the bile. And your liver is your main fat burning organ so if you keep your liver always according to your body will be in balance. Or metabolize fats better, so now I put the lemon and the banana in last. I am going to blend it one more time, now you can - some people actually prefer to drink really cold.
And you know for people for instance like to put ice in their water. I am more of a room temperature person but if you are going to those people that likes.
Betty: Sizzling, half tea.
Kim: They like it really cold; you could also add ice cubes to this recipe. So are you ready? And you are going to be surprised - yummy right? The apple and the lemon try to that green grassy taste. So this is a very.
Betty: This really good.
Kim: Great, I am glad to have and look you can take a whole glass of this. Do you see how filling it is?
Betty: It is so filling, this thing, it feels like it weighs two pounds.
Kim: So that again is the big difference between having this and the juice. Our juice goes thorough you and you are going to be hungy, when you have this you are going to be full. So for the truffles and I can give you the full recipe at the end, I just took all in mail which you can get at Trader Joe’s or anywhere.
Mix it with some cacao, and the mixture of about usually the ratio is like two cups of almond flour, three quarters cup of cacao something like that.
Betty: Got it.
Kim: So now I am going to take the agave next and I will use about half a cup. Next I am going to take a pocket of oil; I am just taking a teaspoon full. I am putting in here like I choose teaspoon full. So I am just going to mix this all together.
You want to get it to the consistency almost like a brownie. When your hands are wet a little bit wet, it is easier to roll the truffles. So usually when I am making this, I will have a little bowl of water.
Betty: So you can just dip in.
Kim: Exactly, so all we are doing is taking a little mixture enough to make like maybe a pingpong shape truffle. And here I am, you can this in front of T.V, you can do it listening to music, like I have been doing the last few days. So just really easy - just a make a little truffle and stick in the coconut dish and cover over the coconut.
Betty: And that is it? That is done, there is no baking involve.
Kim: That is it, now again, this has to stay in the freezer at least overnight to harden, you sort of having the batter before the -- yummy right?
Betty: I can't believe this are good for you. Well thank you so much for showing us how to make these lovely things.
Kim: Thank you so much for having me.
