If you use a lot of calendars in Outlook 2007, there will be a time when you will want to print your calendar in overlay mode. In order words, you have got your calendar and a few other calendars that you want to take a look at and print in maybe an overlay type mode. You actually want to have some more features available for printing in Outlook because the default settings that come with Outlook are just not meant to print more than just your regular calendar, okay. So, you can only print one calendar at a time in the default Outlook.
So, Microsoft has provided something called the Calendar Printing Assistant and it is available free from their website. Just take a look at that.
[Demo]
So, here is the URL and it is the Calendar Printing Assistant from Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. And if you scroll down the page, it is basically a free download, plus it also has a Service Pack 1 for it. So first of all, you install this file and then you will go and install the Service Pack. It tells you on the download page that there is a Service Pack 1 for it. But, it does not sit inside of Outlook, it is actually sits outside of Outlook and I will show you how that works. But the things that you can do with this are so much more enhanced than what you would get in Outlook automatically. And you have got some color coding options and you have got all these different views. It will actually launch the Calendar Printing Assistant and I will show you what I mean.
So, let us kind of scroll down here in where it says, “Print dynamic calendar views.” This is some example of what you can get out of the Calendar Printing Assistant. The thing it does say here is print multiple calendars in one view, which is what a lot of people are looking for and which is not available in Outlook by itself. So, the Calendar Printing Assistant gives you the flexibility to print multiple Office Outlook 2007 calendars in either overlay or side-by-side views in which really nice. These views can help you easily compare your calendar to the calendar of a co-worker or a team and it allows you to print in this, not only can you view it like you can in regular with Outlook, but now you can actually print these views as well, so very, very nice.
And then, it has got some out of the box template choices, you can personalize it with some images which is really nice. You can actually create one of those calendars that you get printed like it kinkles or something. Put up a picture of your new house on it or maybe a picture of the new baby in the family or a graduate or the wedding picture or something along those lines. You can actually get that in the Calendar Printing Assistant and it create an actual calendar for yourself.
Anyway, that is really great. And so, let us go ahead and go to Outlook and let us launch that Calendar Printing Assistant. So here I am back in Outlook, and I have got three calendars up. I have got my regular calendar, a social marketing schedule calendar and a small business self-employment calendar. So, let us take a look at what we can do with this. Obviously, if we go on to file print, we really only have our options to print one or the other type of calendar. This is the default printing settings in Outlook, all right. So none of these are going to do what we want because what we are looking for is to print our calendar in overlay mode, maybe print all three calendars on top of each other or side by side mode but we want to print more than just one calendar.
I am going to cancel here because that is not how you launch the Calendar Printing Assistant, you actually have to go outside of Outlook to launch it. So, I am going to go down to the start menu and it basically installed that in the Microsoft Office tools area, Calendar Printing Assistant. But if you wanted to grab this right here and drag it up to here like I already did, okay. I already put that up there. So it makes a very easy for me to just launch the Calendar Printing Assistant without having to go into the programs area.
So, I am going to go at Calendar Printing Assistant and it is
