Guide to Getting Around Part 13 New York
I suggest we Californian’s could learn something from the way other places move their people around.
What is this, Grand Central station? Actually this is Grand central Station. A part of public transit for New York City, the most densely populated city in the United States.
Okay, it is called Grand Central Terminal now. Not a mere station. At one point in time, since World War, 40% of the population of our country passed through these walls. Can you imagine the insanity that would ensure if all these people in New York City would have drive around in a 100-cubic foot single occupant gas burning small belching vehicle weighing over a 00:43, this is the message lost on California.
The traffic is still snarled in this city of 22 million people but it is mitigated in almost years ago because over half of them use some form of mass transit, the subway system being the most famous. They have had over a hundred years of subway service to learn.
Male: Here in Manhattan, living here in a small period, having a car is a liability.
When you get off the subway, there are buses across town to connect you to your destination. Or is it always takes a cab. In Manhattan, the densest place in the country, multiple subways around the links of the island that are reduced a dozen blocks wide. You are never more than a few blocks from the subway. Even in the outlying burrows, you were not that much further away. Not only this, the subway use bidirectional trucks, in many stations there are four trucks. So express trains can keep stations to speed London town passengers along their way.
I went here to show you a mass transit system that works. But a person accepts and embrace mass transit as you have seen in the media. A great deal of New York culture takes place underground in the subway. To serve the longer distance travelers in the suburbs, there is also a 2:04 of local trains that run hourly pretty much 20-hours a day. These people are running for the train to save an hour waiting. If you do need to travel after midnight you are in trouble. You might just have to take a bus and through tram stations you could easily travel from Boston to Washington DC. For the isolated burrow of __ Island, they even have an hourly fairly service.
I am not sadistic but sir, have you ever going at this craft.
At 17 million people, the metropolitan Los Angeles area is the second largest in the country and it is spread across many more square miles.
To enter a county is just a small part of it
