Guide to National Flood Insurance

My name is Ken Ward and I have been in the insurance businesses as active insurance agent on Michaels for 35 years. I am the Vice President on Marcus insurance business insurance agency and I have work the entire 35 years here on Michael’s venue. Our business is three offices, hall on the venues we have about 45 employees. So, we are very active insurance agency and we ensure a lot of seasonal homes and a lot of seasonal businesses and so on, any around businesses here on the venue. And not pretty much hour business here.

I am here today to talk to you a little bit about the flood insurance. And engineered might imagined insurance in general is a very serious business. We need to be serious when we are talking about insurance. Having done that and said that, I want you to know that flood Insurance is of course, something that most people are in Island or near or river or in lake. You need to have for a couple of different reasons. One is for the protection of their property because the home owner’s policy will not cover flood insurance. I want to say that again, the home owner’s policy will not cover a flood. You need to buy flood insurance, your buy for insurance from your local agent as the best place to go forth. They can carry you what zone you in, they can figured out how much your premium would be a give you options about coverage’s and so on because there are a few options with the fad particularly deductibles and that sort of thing.

If your house is valued more than that, you need to buy the maximum or $250,000.00. If you do, there is no co-insurance penalty, If you think you only going to have a loss of $10,000.00 on your house and you only buy $10,000.00 worth of insurance, you could be in trouble. That is the reason that you need to go and visit with your local agent review, where your house is, what zone you might be in and get some advice as to have best to cover your home and your property.

Not everyone needs floods insurance but I think it would to worth to call to find out exactly where you are because the flood would not necessarily be in diction like the one we have all seen Katrina, in New Orleans. Sometimes the flood is just a backup of an ice stem or something at a local stream. That backs-up in you house or your property and there are extensions of coverage that are on the flood policy that will provide coverage for the occasional flood which an unexpected that you might say.

Flood insurance is a necessary part of your insurance package if you have a more you re-junk sure your bank is going to make sure that you have flood insurance in effect.
