Hey there little ones your guitar stage here and today we’re going to learn how to play Bad Moon Rising by CCR- Creedence Clearwater Revival that they have from the 60s that was really cool, 70’s, early 70’s late 60’s, something like that I’m sure someone will correct me and thank you ahead of time.
Okay so here we go Bad Moon Rising it’s a D, A and G for the most part and when I say for the most part, I mean the entire song. And here we go, I’m going to play it and then we’ll talk about all the beats and pieces, really there’s two basic chord progressions to this and here we go, I'm going to show it to you, it’s going to go something like this [Demonstration].
Literally, that’s the whole tune, two basic chord progressions. I’m going to go over with you. We’re going to talk about the strumming method. We’re going to talk about all the beats and pieces here. So, for those of you that didn’t get what I just did, stick around because here we go. And also, if you have them already, you haven’t visited your guitarstage.com, do so especially if you’re subscribing to these videos because every video that I put up, I have a chart that will really hasten or really quicken your learning process. So, check out your guitarstage.com, get the eBook especially if you’re subscribing here because it’s going to help you at time.
Your guitar at 20, okay, here we go. The chords are for this song D, A, and G and here are the two basic rhythms. So in four and like a two, four, one, two, three, four that’s how it counted because we count it with a snare. Usually snares on the 2 and the 4 so [Demonstration].
So that’s how we count songs and we stay there in four instead of eight or two or something like that. We’re just talking about Bad Moon Rising and don’t get anything with MSG kids, it’s bad for you.
I think this from like a Chinese from like 20 years ago. Here we go. D from whole measure, four beats, right? A for 2 beats, G for 2 beats and then two measures of D. Again it’s going to go [Demonstration].
I suggest that you learn songs like this if especially if you having difficulty with strumming because a lot of people go, “What’s strumming? I want strumming right away.” Well if you can’t get this in just block chord like this. Strumming is not going to help you, it’s going to make it more difficult. So learn it this way first where you can count it [Demonstration]. Talk about strumming in a minute. Of course it’s going to go [Demonstration].
Again it’s two measures of G, two measures of D and a measure of A, a measure of G, a measure of D and another measure of D Okay, so it’s two G’s, two D’s, A and G, two more D’s. Again, if you’d rather not write all these notes down or all these chords down, go to your guitarstage.com and I’ll tell you how to get a hold of the chart, okay. What else? Let’s talk about the strumming method to this. By the way, the song is going to go, it’s those two basic chord progression but it’s going to go intro first chords, first chords, solo, verse double chorus and that’s it.
So strumming once is what I'm doing [Demonstration]. I kind of do this like mute on the one, I go [Demonstration]. So my hit is on the two. So we’re going [Demonstration]. The problem that most people have when they are learning to play guitar is they just try to force things to quickly. You got to take time with them, it’s just like you would with anything that you’re learning. Take this D chord and just play that rhythm [Demonstration]. Get used to that. That’s the bulk of the song. When you can do that, you’re going to get the song together and go to the A, G, and just stay on it, get a good feel for it. Then you can work it together. Write it down.
What else kids? That’s it men. That’s it on this one, super easy tune. All right, let’s get out of here. If you haven’t already, hit subscribe so you can these videos in your YouTube box everyday. And also if, you haven’t already, go to your guitarstage.com, get the eBook, it’s going to help, helps speed my guts too. Kids, go practice.
