Guitar Lesson: How to Play Layla

Fun Facts: Layla is one of the most memorable love songs you'll find in rock music. The song was recorded by Eric Clapton along with Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers Band, and originaly appeared in 1970 as a part of the Derek and the Dominos album, Layla and Other Love Assorted Love Songs. The song was inspired by Clapton's adoration for Pattie Boyd, a beautiful model who was married to Clapton's pal George Harrison at the time. The title of the song was inspired by an Iranian love story called Layla and Majnun, written by the Persian poet Nezami. Although Clapton did eventually marry Boyd after her divorce from Harrison, the couple went their separate ways in 1989. Lyrics: What'll you do when you get lonely And nobody's waiting by your side? The D Chord Guitar Lesson

A GUITAR LESSON SHOWING YOU HOW TO PLAY THE D CHORD WITH TAB

Starts out with couple layers of guitars that you can play, the basic riff with one guitar and so the guidal phrase, starts out with hammer on’s and pull off’s. A power chords, little bit of moving around. Let us do the basic beginning part first

(Music Playing)

Okay, as you can see it involves hammer on’s and pull off’s with the third frets of the A and the D string. So you pluck the A string.

You hammer on. I used my middle finger. Pluck the open D. And when you hammer on to the third or the D, you pull off and then you play the third for the A. Open D so slowly.

And then you do a power chord, the D power chord was just the 5th fret and then the C. So, it is just a descending line. D, C, B flat and then you play a G after you rearticulate the B flat and then the C power chord.

And then the fifth further the low E and then the D power chord again. So slowly in that section. As a little square feeling rhythmically but you get the idea. On the next part of it
