Hi. I am Bob from Toronto, Canada. This guitar lesson is an introduction to ear training. As a guitar player, you should try to develop an ear for music. Meaning, that you are better able to play on the guitar what you hear such as songs by other bands or a guitar riff in your head.
If you do not develop your ear for music, not only will it be hard for you to pick up on songs but there will be a connection between what you are hearing in your head, what you are feeling, and what you are playing in the guitar. You are just be playing random notes.
So, a good way to start of on your training is to play the melodies of songs that you are familiar with. So, go through your music collection and try to find some songs with melodies that you can pick out. Here are some random examples that I can quickly demonstrate here. First one would be like Star Wars.

Mozart,

War Pigs by Box Office,

And Stairway to Heaven.

Also, try to learn songs by listening to them instead of getting them off the internet or through books. Only do that as a last resort if you get stocked.
Try to spend about 15 minutes a day on your training. That should help develop your guitar playing as well as your musical ear. I hope this lesson has been helpful and if you have any questions, please message me.
Also, I have a new guitar lesson website with 50 of my videos on it. Here it is, it is www.bobsguitarlessons.50megs.com, 50 videos. Bye for now.
