Hi! I am Bob from Toronto, Canada. This lesson is about playing the Major scale on the guitar.
First, I will demonstrate how to play the Major scale in the key of G and then in other keys. First, the notes, G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, G. and G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, G.
And now here are the frets to play the G Major scale across two octaves. Sixth string, third and fifth frets, fifth string, second, third and fifth frets.
Fourth string, second, fourth and fifth frets. Third string, second, fourth and fifth frets. Second string, third and fifth frets. First string, second and third frets.
Next, I will show how to play the major scale in other keys. But first I need to name the notes on the sixth string. Open E, first fret F, third fret G, fifth fret A, seventh fret D, eighth fret C, tenth fret D, twelfth fret E.
To play a Major scale in a different key, all you have to do is play the exact same finger pattern as the G Major scale and move it. Here is the G Major scale again.
[Demonstration]
Do you want to play that in A Major, all you have to do is move that pattern up to the fifth fret A. And C Major, move it up to the note C here and,
[Demonstration]
And From C Major to D Major, move that up to D.
[Demonstration]
And B Major, move that down to the seventh fret, B.
[Demonstration]
I hope this lesson has been helpful and if you have any questions, please message me.
