tricks and lessons and licks for you right here on the Guitar Tricks Channel we’re going
to hook you up some fresh stuff. This week welcome 2010 let’s blast off into to guitar
lick land. Tip of the week right here on how to do the bumble bee sounds sound’s like
this. The trick is to get that real fast ticking going with your right hand a little high e-
string and then to get a trill between your 1st and 2nd finger on the left hand and then
you’re going to move your hand around randomly up and down the next so it sounds like
this.

It’s the flight of the Bumble Bee that goes tall these specific notes. On our lesson of the
week how to add a motion to your soloing, it’s not something that’s easy to pin point and
I’ve heard this question brought up a lot of times and I would give you free pointers that
would help lead you in that direction if you’re having trouble getting emotion into your
guitar soloing because there’s three things on the guitar that to me really stand out sustain
vibrato and timing.
Sustain is basically let’s say you got a song. The different chords going under the solo
section, start on the tonic of that song whatever gets in this one is in A so it’s kind of
holding a note while there’s a chord change going on and really adds a great effect. This
is by holding that one note there’s a lot more going on than you might think and it really
evokes an emotional response.
Now you can start with some sustain and add a little vibrato and you’ve also got
movement going on without playing a lot of nooks. Also another thing is timing or when
you start your solo you don’t have to come in on the want of the beat you know you
might be thinking about 1, 2, 3, 4 2, 2, 3, 4. It’s coming in right in the one instead you can
wait a little bit, wait to the 2nd or the 3rd beat of the measure and this will add a little
anticipation. Make your listener wait for your note, for instance like this.

Holding out those notes adding a little vibrato making them sing you’re making the notes
sing. Another real important thing if you’re going to do an emotional solo and you’re
about to start and you’re thinking about what to play stop, stop thinking it’s an emotional
solo you want to feel it so when you’re about to approach that solo stop thinking and start
feeling. Hopefully these helps you out and produce a gap and get you on to some more
soulful playing in your lead section.
We’ll see you here in about 7 days catches here on you tube with any request Twitter or
