Welcome to the digital and company of show. So we are going to be looking at HD Homerun. Been a while around for a while and the rest this is the first site available in the UK for the DVB-T in the market. So this is the twin sheet of the HD Homerun DVB-T edition so I can use it here in the UK. So what we are going to do on this video ground box on how it looks inside and go for the set-up and see how it works. What is great thing about HD Homerun is that they area lead goes in to the box in to the unit itself and then you can get over to the network to the PC. So indicate the music to the touch mark and USB too to put directly in to here so I really got to have the cable open to the PC.
Provided, the PC the Pentium that I want you to watch and I like TV on I can put this downstairs here on the network where the area is and upstairs I can be on the network to the tuning device. So you don’t have to have your PC where your area cable is, so it gives you more flexibility and the idea to choose different PC as well. So in the ground box here how look and we can’t find three page faces and Windows Vista. In the box we got a CD instructions and it’s very helpful includes two collects area tables and the network lead as well patch in.
Now on the actual box itself so we got some indicates life on it and on the bike we got power and in to that on the two tuners. So if you want to really do tuning in and bring tow area cables in I use a power splitter and on a random I won’t be showing on this video but that is how I normally use so that will give you tuning in. For now I’m just going to use the wall on this a single tuning device. You have the thing as power and that’s just the single power adopted. So I’m going to cut this off now and we will go though the installation with it.
The first thing I’m going to do in this set it with it very much, we’re going to use the latest video drivers could be tested on this Windows seven later. So now I’m just going to role through the center and when the widgets finish then let it detect the device. Now you see it’s built on the firmware on the unit. So it’s found on the device and I can pick my country. I’m going to put in Portugal so I can now choose which tune is in well and that put on the arrow cable in to the tunes in zero. So I’m just going to label that for the digital ten on each one center, windows media center and relieve the second tune in the disable I said if I did on the split. So the arrow split that I can use on both tunes, so we’ll do scan. So it’s found all the channels, I’ll click finish, that should be done. Now I can go and set all the media controls all we can actually tested. So lets’ gives this quick test now we are trying to view a channel, okay so that is working. So we’ll just put on and check on that later. So with all the size and its work should now we are going to be on the media center and does that settle.
Once I’m in the media center now you are going set the chain up, I am going to set in and it actually prom before I set the video where I wanted to set the tuner up because it is detecting your tuners, or I want to set the video so it’s going to be for this manually. So I’m using the center and DVB-T sets out box these lets my existing cards and pick the HD Homerun. Like I said before I really enable one tuner because it is going to split to able to both be sure on the and choose my transmitter, choose preview, download the guide data. So now we are going to scan for channels to see what the Homerun picks up is actually a flashing light shining with tunes going on the camera down and I’ll show you. See what channels it picks out, so it founds out 75 channels on and I’m pretty sure I found 76 in my old tuner and 88 with Windows7 with that pixels moving to selective channels.
We’ll that’s okay so we could next and I finish that. So lets go and see what they call it right now, this is effective by networking as well as a single strand tissues as well. We should be out to se what its like, can not really and that will be a networking or signal tuner. I suspect networking much stronger channels; much better so maybe it’s a single strand tissue. Now the usual channels I add comes with the some of the ITV tune channel four is another one and its use whether for both signal strength and it seems okay, lets try on TV two, well that seems okay. We will try to be using two channels now you just enter that struggle but that is the high equality signal consumes BBC channels. So maybe it is not working might try as well something different in the moment.]
So that’s the HD Homerun open running on Vista and aside from the simple issues, so I’m going to look at the minimal it was great working fine and of course we like the fact that it say you don’t have open the new tune. Direct and connect the machine, this could be anywhere this is invaluable via thing it works. So I think it’s a good product from the people you ask it is pretty good to look in the UK and to try having it to work to drive as installing and if anything works fine with it the HD Homerun software works fine and you can view channels in Windows media player if you use the software.
When you go to the media center it is a scan fold for the channel and the channel and it just doesn’t find them at all. So this has some mapping issue somewhere drive or as you wish to win the Homerun Window7 and hopefully this will be address before Windows7 is out. I know you actually use the word with it and it works okay. So hopefully we will get up and running and we’ll another video on Windows7 because it is great to have this and all the tune is working the same and it can be more channels and more flexibility for when I record.
