Why not idicate how effective the touch screen is for typical PC activities like browsing. It was a dog for me so if you don't like the fancy stuff you showed the touch screen is useless.

HP TouchSmart Computers Review Mike Agerbo: You know whenever we were doing task as humans we always have some type of instrument to help up us but basically the essence of anything is using our hands and our fingers. The same thing with using computers, what with the advent of touch technology and the latest in Windows 7 operating system, it takes touch technology to the next level. We’re having a look today at the HP TouchSmart line. This is the HP TouchSmart 300 PC and we’ll also have to look at the latest in their notebook as well the TX2 Touch Part notebook. But what makes this really interesting is they can use the traditional input methods. You know the kind of the middlemen of input. The keyboards and the mouse but now you can also use your finger to do everything which makes a lot more intuitive when you’re trying to get task done. Right up on the screen, we’ve got the TouchSmart interface. This is kind of cool. I can navigate through a whole bunch of different type of experiences and functions by simply using my fingers. Up here I got the browser. I can scroll over and look at my photo collection and this is full multimedia PCs. It’s got the nice 20-inch screen and you can put all your photos and videos and do regular computing on it as well. It can also go over to things like the canvas. This is kind of a cool feature. If I go on to this application, what allows me to do is check it all the photos and things that I’ve worked with and this is kind of a fun thing. I can drag these photos around. I can rotate them. I can enlarge them by pinching and then pulling on them. So again, just taking that whole kind of interface and computing to another level being able to use things as simple as our fingers. What I like about this is that this a great computer even in a family environment. You can stick one of these in the family room or even in the kitchen. So for example, I’ve got some great apps in here. If I wanted to watch DVD I can simply insert that on the side and watch a movie. If I want to leave a note for one of the family members I can actually go down to the note function. So typically when we leave notes we got little sticky pads out. We’re probably leaving them on the fridge or on the cork board but now I can use my fingers and can have the note board right on the computer itself. So it makes a little more fun to actually do. If I want to create a new one, I can see down the bottom here I simply just click and using my finger as the pen I can say, for example back at 3:00 Mike and you can see it got some different colors here. I can adjust the thickness of the little virtual sharpie and hit done and my note, oh got to put back at 3. I can put it anywhere on the screen. I can make it big if it’s super important. And what I like is I can even do voice notes too which is a great features. Simply hit on the microphone and because this is fully multimedia enable with the microphone or even a webcam for example. I can simply hit record “I will be back at 3:00, I’ve got a doctor’s appointment and I also need to get some groceries. Can you make sure that—“I guess the longest mode. Let see if my sound will pick up on that, I don’t know. But once I have done, that little voice note comes up on a screen here and when they come back from school for example they can simply click on it. You got the picture. And again, it is a full computer as well. I can simply just click out of the TouchSmart interface and get back to regular computing with the Windows Desktop, do things like browsing, graphics and even games as well. It’s got the USB slot from the side. There are six of them on this particular one. Volume control on the side as well. It got a multimedia card slot so you can put your digital cards in from your camera and full wireless capability too. So they also have this capability in their notebook line now. This is the TouchSmart TX2 notebook and it’s got the same type of interface so we can again scroll through with our fingers. This particular one comes with a pen as well if you’re more comfortable using a pen and because its part of their tab alone you can see I can actually then tilt the screen down and again I can go into the regular computing functions that Windows 7 has and even use this as a note taking device. So this is a great opportunity to really take input on computers to another level so to speak. The HP TouchSmart 300PC and the TX2 Notebook and again use your fingers or your pen to make Windows even easier to use.
