HP TouchSmart TX2 Laptop Review
Well the one thing with technology, it does necessarily make my handwriting or my printing any better. grabbing a look at the latest from HP is their HP TouchSmart TX2 Laptop, fully functioning laptop with also the pen tablet capability as well. Inside you can get a number of different processor options as typically using an AMD Treon X2. you can also get up to eight gigabytes RAM and up to 500-gigabyte hard drive installed into the unit too.
Its using a 12-inch screen and the nice thing about this is that you can turn it around and actually click the screen right under the keyboard and use it as a full tablet. Nice thing about that is if you’re in meetings, you can actually take notes like you write you normally would, if you’re writing on paper with a pen or a pencil.
Right now, I’m using the Windows Journal and you know we’ve seen this before; I can actually then highlight the text if I want and have it translated or do its best anyway to translate it into editable text that I can use in my word or text documents. Not bad, get connected the wii mike, close. But you know what I typically do is that I use a pen tablet to actually take all of my notes then I can save them in this regular format here and then pretty them out at any time. What makes this a little bit different is that it’s really optimized not only for the pen but for your finger too. It’s got the HP media smart software built into it and I can have it manage all my things like photos, video, music and even my TV connections if I have a TV card or internet going through this.
This will bring up the photo version here. as you can see right on the screen, I’ve got my library of photos. I can click in with my finger; I can select the one I want. I'm going to check out the old sea turtle here and then using my finger I can then scroll through the pictures just like I’m going through my regular slide show. so again, you can see that it really does work with your fingertips as well and you can do all the regular photo editing stuff that you typically would want to do.
Its got the built in finger print scanner on the side here for built in security also as the webcam so you can do video conferencing and of course Wi-Fi connection. BNG I believe so you can get the high-speed internet access if you’re in an internet hotspot. You can see this is really aimed at media and entertainment. If you just click this little guy here, it actually pulls out a little mini remote control, so I can be in my hotel room or out in the road, I can sit back and enjoy all my regular entertainment. Its running on Windows Vista and you can get it in a number of different flavors including ones that have the media center built into it as well, so you can watch all your favorite movies and slideshows on the go. as you can see here, we even had it hooked up to a big screen TV too.
It’s got the traditional USB connections built in the sides so you can hook in all your different types of devices and peripherals. Overall, a handy little unit if you’re a business traveler and you want that capability to run your regular programs but that entertainment feature as well and being able to use your finger to go through things like your photos and your different media options. It’s called the HP TouchSmart TX2, latest from HP and tablet computing.
