Okay, so here we and I've set up my Gmail account and I've gone ahead and I've actually sent myself a test message. So what you can see here is—this is basically, well now if I had more than one message I'll be able to flick through, I can create a message and as you can see as soon as you go to create a message basically it goes into the windows mobile interface which is not awesome but again what if she did was I actually created this menu options that are actually quite finger friendly so that is helpful. And then as you can see here basically I can tap on the message and it loads up inside the windows mobile email client.
The windows will be client does it okay job that rendering HTML email it's not frankly, it's not great but again on the device rather without keyboard I don’t know how much email you're going to be doing but it is something to be aware of. I typically use a Blackjack 2, you know before this and so it’s a device with the keyboard and that is frankly something that if we’re going to be doing a lot of email you may want to physical keyboard but if you don’t want a physical keyboard this device is something that will do the job. Now, we’ll keep moving along here.
Okay, so this is the Opera Mobile Client or rather this is the tab for internet. Now when I click on launch browser it’s going to launch Opera Mobile here and after a couple of seconds they’ll come up and it comes up with the search so let say I want to do a search for dogs and boom go ahead I want to do a search and Opera Mobile is a very capable web browser. We’re going to rotate it here although you'll notice to that you see how there's this kind of interface here that will pop up at the bottom but now I'm trying to think here. Yeah, there we go so it does actually go with and so and so. It gives you the ability to see you know a lot of webpage on here so right now of course I am looking at the web on you know and it’s 800 pixels wide this way and 480 this way and so you're not now—a lot of websites are designed for about a thousand pixels wide but you know as you can see here this is full fidelity I'm able to seek kind of everything, I'm able to pinch, I'm able to zoom, I'm able to zoom out, I can double tap basically all of those things that are really popular on the iPhone you are able to do in this browser. So yeah, that’s basically just a quick demo of Opera Mobile.
Now I believe this is Opera Mobile 9 and Opera as of December 2009 they just release Opera 10 Beta and so hopefully HTC will be updating to that new client if it is in fact any better. Now you can also add short cuts here so what I can do is I can say I want to shortcut to Facebook and what will happen here now—I'm not entirely sure if it will do right now or if it will do kind of the next time that I visit the website but its actually suppose to show you a snapshot of the website there so let say I want to add HTC and then let say I actually want to visit Facebook on my phone here I'm going to load up Facebook. And what I'm going to do is I'm just going to let the page load basically and then I'm going to ex out and we’ll see if it updates that favorite icon.
I really, really like the favorite icon because it gives you a really friendly way of accessing the websites that you want to access frequently. Yeah, there we go boom so you see right there it never shows me the Facebook icon. So again really, really nice and it gives you a few looks like maybe six, eight something like that, yeah.
So let's move on to counter. I've already basically talk about calendar but you can go into a month view, you can go to agenda view and that’s basically it, it doesn’t—oh yeah, sorry they do have a year view. Now again, what's kind of cool here is that because it such a high risk screen even though this numbers are really tiny they're actually quite readable by human eyes so you got to definitely appreciate that.
Now, we’ll flip over here we have a stock quote so if you play the markets you can get your stock quotes, you can update it anytime you want the market closer now so here is that you can click on photos and videos. Now photos and videos HTC has just a really, really beautiful program. Sorry for doing that so we’re going to rotate, we can flip through as you can see now, as you can see here the performance is quite good so I want do I'm going to flip all the way back, I'm going to click on one and you can see how it did that really nice going to smooth animation and I'm just going to basically go through and you're going to see just how high performance this is. So again that’s snap I can processor its fantastic honestly it’s really, really great.
There's a lots of different things you can do, you can save your picture as a contact, the icon save as a screen image and you can delete it. You can send the picture up to Facebook. This is the slideshow mode so you can go ahead and you can do slideshows. Again, the screen I don’t know if this videos going to do the screen justice but the screen is absolutely fantastic. I've take a look at my pictures on the screen and I know what the, you know they're suppose to look like the screen it does an excellent, excellent job of rendering.
And let see here photos and videos now this is the—yeah, so this is actually the camera shots. I'm not going to do a demo of the camera right now. Well, actually you know what? I will. I'm going put something down there. Now it’s dark but of course we have the flash so let see here, yeah so I can click on this I try to zoom in boom. So I don’t know if you saw how bright that flash was but as you can see it have absolutely no problem illuminating—oh here I can actually show you how bright it is. Get ready.
In fact that so bright it’s actually kind of socially awkward if you take a picture with this camera because it’s really freaking bright. Yeah, but anyway I'm not going to go into a lot of details but there is a whole bunch of configurations you can do, you can change the eyes, you can change the white balance, you can change the where stuff stores, lots and lots stuff.
Now here's the picture that I just took pinch and zoom all those great things as you can see here the camera did a pretty good job actually of capturing the detail I can move around, I can zoom in, I can zoom out, I can double tap and zoom in all those things that frankly you know, the iPod Touch and the iPhone kind of came up with or at least they're popularized the idea of the double tap and the pinch. HTC supports all of those things.
And there we go so that is—sorry we’re back in the camera app, you want to exit the camera, boom! There we go. Now we are back into the basic stuff. This is the Music one so even this you can actually flip this with the Music app and it’s kind of confusing because, so it’s the music tab but it’s actually the app that comes with the actual device and what's kind of neat now. I can't violate copyright law so I'm actually going to lower the volume and you can actually see when it’s on the Music app you can see that you don’t get the typical volume so I'm going to go that, I'm going to mute it, right. I'm going to hit play and the music is playing.
So you actually see to this like a little progress indicator down there and so you can actually go ahead you can flip through and you can say, “Okay, I want to listen to some—there was no patrol whatever” boom! There you go there is your stuff you can go through you can click on the library and you can actually see now playing and you can investigate different meta data, you can look at the albums and again this is all HTC application so essentially they just built what Window Media Player mobile should have been frankly that application is kind of pathetic it’s a pretty bad app and HTC just did a really, really great jobs.
So now between having 3.5 millimeter headphone jack at the bottom at having a really great Media Player app now HTC I think build are really great, you know device they can actual be use as a media player. Now they do have a Twitter applications so if your own Twitter you can go ahead and so this is my Twitter feeds so I can scroll through, I can check out all Tweets, I check out anyone that is actually mention me, et cetera, et cetera. I can go back.
Now, here's something I want to point out again maybe it been fix by the wrong update but the Twitter update I notice that I will click on update and you can see here there is that little rotating icon up in the corner there it would update the Twitter for you but then in the—sorry, suppose update the Twitter feed but then it wouldn’t update their Twitter feeds so I don’t know what the heck was going on but I'm hoping that this RAM update has fix that part, that bug because of course it really irritating to not be able to see your Twitter feed. This is something called HTC Footprints. Footprints is a way of essentially combining pictures with GeoTag information.
I haven’t really used that or rather I use that once but I didn’t really fully grasp what I was doing. I need to kind of play with that a little or figure out exactly how it works. And then of course this is the settings, this is where you control a control bunch of stuff with the device. You can change the home tab wallpaper so let say I want to have this purple wallpaper so this is actually animated, I can change the lock screen wallpaper here so maybe I want to have a wallpaper or maybe I want to have this funky wallpaper down here. Boom! Now that’s been change if I turn off the device and I turn it back on again there is my funky cool wallpaper. I swipe aside here you notice there are typically two swipes so again it's not always perfect.
And then of course I've change the desktop wall paper here. So that’s about it for the built and HTC apps you know, the device comes with other software, it comes with a really, really nice YouTube clients so if you like consuming you know YouTube on your device and maybe you're watching this on YouTube right now this is a really, really, really nice YouTube application that HTC is built.
Again, a lot of the stuff that HTC is done is big as Microsoft frankly it hasn’t done what they're sort of suppose to do and so HTC has created a lot of really, really nice application so YouTube client there's Camera app, there's a Camcorder apps and of course this thing can record video. Another 4 % show the resolution of video I will throw that up when I'm editing this video you have Windows Mobile Market Place. Now this is the first time I've actually use this so what's going to do its actually going download an application. Now I'm connected over WiFi if you're curious about why that happened so incredibly quickly I'm connected over WiFi and edge but the phone is smart enough to use WiFi to over to a grab stuff quickly. So here is market place I don’t normally what to talk about market place today we can talk about hat a little bit later.
In terms of other applications I think that’s about it. It does come with Microsoft my phone but for HTC applications that are pretty much it doest come with the Facebook app but again that is also microphone that comes with being microphone. Boy this video getting kind of a long Microsoft comes from being that is also Microsoft comes with being that is also Microsoft and of course it also comes with—I'm going to hit cancel there it also comes with Google Maps so if you like using Google Maps you can get that there comes with copilot Opera Mobile whether the mention and pip which is HTC Twitter clients.
So oh boy, that’s was a lot of to covers so this is the HTC, HTC data is been a quick software over view. This is been Jason Dunn from Windows Phone Thoughts I hope you have enjoyed I hope you have enjoyed watching this video. I think this video I think HTC has done a fantastic, fantastic job with the software on the devices. Not perfect but frankly they’ve done a really, really good job and it makes using a windows phone that is running HTC sense it makes it using just a delight just appear joy because they’ve done such a good job with their software.
If you like the video please feel free to rates it, comment and subscribe through a channel. Those are the three things like you do. Thanks a lot for watching. Bye-bye.
