A Russian Company by the name of Elcomsoft is now saying that for about $1000, they will sell you a software package that will help you bust Wi-Fi encryption keys very, very quickly. And so this tool they have basically Wi-Fi encryption and hopefully you're using that WAP but if you're using WPA, WPA-2 Network security on your wireless LAN, really I’m trying to use the brute force method of breaking your network wireless security would take months and months and months and months that it will just be impossible. This company, I'm not sure what their deal is but now they are actually slowing this and this product, they have it running on machine with multiple graphics, cards and uses all those GPUs in the calculations. There's still a brute force method of doing this but their claim is, is that; you can't detect this thing because apparently it’s trying to capture your internet, your wireless files over the air and then using advanced Algorithms, break that encryption in the in a plain text format and which a process like I said, we take months and months to do on normal computers. There's saying they can do, you know fraction of that time with your $1000.00 software package and their making it available to anybody willing to pay.
Look, real world here. Most home users don't have a thing to fear with it. Heck a lot home users don't even bother to secure their wireless networks. But that being said, you know it bothers me that this company’s out there doing that, you know but you need to be made aware that this sort of technologies going to start ramping up and obviously there's a market for it, they feel there is and it may end up becoming more and more pervasive. I don't know.
They called the product, the Wireless Security Auditor 1.0. But you know these high end graphics cards use very, very sophisticated microprocessors as lightning fast. And when you can bank them together, out them all to work, you know you got a supercomputing going on there and now they're trying to give these tools on relatively cheap, you know, so it just pays, number one to make sure your securing your wireless network card. The other video about that but I'll let you know, you know this is going on out there. No I don't think most of us have a thing to worry about but here's the deal.
There's going to be more and more tools made available by hackers to break into your wireless networks so you really, if you're not using that wireless network security or if you're not using enough. You really need to begin to consider things like a good firewall, good. Wireless security practices and common sense and I think that will serve you pretty well. We’ll just let you know, hey the bad guys, you know they're out there and they are doing their thing and now these companies are starting to come out with products you can buy to help do this.
They are claiming the product is absolutely legal. Yeah I find that across the book, I find that claim very, very, very, questionable.
