Ronica: There is more in choosing a hair color than you may think. Hi! I'm Ronica with WatchMojo.com and today we are going to show you how it's done.
How do you go about choosing hair color?
Roch Lemay: Lot of people look at hair coloring being concentrating the client by looking at their skin tone, the eye color, what they see in general. But there's always a side that we forget. Color is not only according to the esthetic it's also according to the emotion of the individual, because color evokes the emotion either positive, negative or neutral.
By looking at you at this moment I may suggest you a color that is suitable for your skin tone and according to what I see, but it doesn't mean those are the color that emotionally you're attracted to
Ronica: Once you have found a perfect hair color how do you maintain it?
Roch Lemay: With the appropriate home maintenance program. A communication with your hair-dresser to make sure depending on the color service that you have received because there is different type of color service you can get in a salon. You get low maintenance, you could get a medium maintenance and you could get high maintenance.
High Maintenance, she has to realize that she is in a salon up every two weeks, the cost, the investment that would cost her to wear, that she wants to do that?
Low Maintenance means that your color will grow out with less demarcation, more easy maintenance into it, so you are looking at a visit may be every 6-8 weeks in your salon.
Then after that secondly is just the home maintenance program, the appropriate shampoo, the appropriate nourishing care to the hair.
First of all we have to understand that the shampoo and the conditioning agent of the same brand is the most important thing because they work in synergy.
Ronica: What does your hair color say about your personality?
Roch Lemay: One of the most popular colors in a salon are Blondes. Everybody wants to be blonde. Because it's soft, people feel that it's more noticeable, it's more approachable.
Red, it's a little bit more intense and Brown, the projection of brown hair, it is a little bit more strong, it has a bit more character.
So, they do reflect different groups and they do reflect different way of perceiving them.
