Jamie: I am Jamie from Palm Harbor, Florida. Is there any difference in cause and treatments for hair loss in men and women? Dr. Amy McMichael: Jamie, that's a great question. There are differences in hair loss and treatments for men and women. One of the very most common forms of hair loss that we see in both men and women is Antigenic Alopecia. We call it female pattern hair loss in women and male pattern hair loss in men. And in men they have a receding hairline and maybe some hair loss on the crown and women we keep our hairline, but we maybe have thinning through here. And it treatments are a little different because the research shows that maybe our hormones are a little different. So you'll have to check with your dermatologist about treatments for those.
