Halloween Fun Facts and History
Male: You’re watching the Halloween News Network. This is the frightly gridy news with Justine Grave.
Justine Grave: Your sure don’t want to bore you with news that’s just not new, in fact, it’s pretty old. But we found these fun facts too interesting that let slip by into the night.
Here’s one. Ever wonder why costumes are worn on Halloween. Well, the ancient Celts brought at the spirit and go through the country side on Halloween night. They began wearing masks and costumes to avoid being recognized as human.
Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America. Can you believe it? Jack-o'-lanterns originated in Ireland were people place candles in howled out turnips to keep away spirits goes on the Samhain holiday.
Lastly, more than 35 million pounds of candy corn will be produced this year. That equates to nearly nine billion pieces. Enough to circle the moon nearly four times if flayed end to end.
And for my taste, they could go ahead and send that candy corn into space.
