Hand Rejuvenation Procedure with Fat Transfer
Dr. Travis Stork: As you can see, we’re in our doctor’s med spa. Doctor O has got a
new anti-aging solution for us.
Dr. Drew Ordon: I sure do and it’s hand rejuvenation. And what I'm doing I'm taking
something out, fat. And I'm putting it back in, in a place that you
want it in your hands. Now very often, aging women and I guess
men too, their hands, they give it away. They don’t match the way
their face looks. They take good care of their face, but their hands
have aged.
Typically, the skin gets thin and wrinkly. You could see the
tendons. You can see the veins. We have a treatment for that. How
does it start? Well first, we have to get the fats. So we go to the
tummy. We harvest the fat. First thing we do, we purify those little
fat cells. We put it in a centrifuge, spin it and get rid of the stuff we
don’t. We just want those healthy, nice robust fat cells. I then
transfer my fat into a one cc injection syringe, okay. We can do
this under local anesthetic. We can do this in the office. In fact,
maybe I’ll bring a patient and do this.
Now typically, you want to feel those central areas, those grooves.
We want to add some volume, see so, I’m in that tunnel. I'm in that
sub-dermal plain, right Travis? Now watch this. I'm going to inject
my fat. You see that.
Dr. Travis Stork: Very cool.
Dr. Drew Ordon: I filled that space. I blocked where I've made my little incision. I
smoothed that out like so. And walla that’s our hand rejuvenation.
I have seen before and after pictures and that’s a significant
improvement. But it’s the volume. It’s the volume that we've
stacked in there, plumping it up and putting those wrinkles.
Dr. Travis Stork: How long will this last?
Dr. Drew Ordon: This should last for fat transfer about a year.
Dr. Travis Stork: Beautiful looking hands too.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Let me see.
Dr. Travis Stork: I'm okay for right now.
Dr. Drew Ordon: You don’t need this yet.
