Robbie Ferguson: Let’s say we look at Robbie’s favorites?
Carrie Webb: Oh yes!
Robbie Ferguson: We like to get this done right off the back because I always forget and it’s very important.
Carrie Webb: It is.
Robbie Ferguson: Happy news.
Carrie Webb: Oh, happy news.
Robbie Ferguson: Thanks Carrie. Keep going.
Carrie Webb: That’s all I got.
Robbie Ferguson: All right, if you are ever sick and tired of just receiving the news and finding out that hey, everything that’s going on the world is bad. Everything is depressing there is HappyNews.com. Robbie’s favorite for this week and just down out the bottom of the website they have their credo and in their credo they say, “We believe virtue, goodwill and heroism are hot news. That’s why we bring you up to the minute news here to lift spirits and inspire lives. Add in a diverse team of citizen journalist reporting positive stories from around the world and you’ve got a happy place for your news.” How awesome is that?
So basically this website Carrie right off the front page of HappyNews.com, you’ve got your happy stories over here on the right and they’ve put a lot of work into this and a lot of the stories are actually just hot link to other websites. But it gives you a little blurb about the article itself and then here's one that’s actually a video.
So I just get to that take a look at it. It’s HappyNews.com really easy to get around the sites. It's not over crowded like some new sites but they do have couple of magazines as well with happy living which you can investigate if there's anything there that is of interest to your whether it be cooking or gardening. You can click through and they actually have online magazines style system here.
But definitely just to be able to receive news that is not slanted. I find the media these days and over the past several basically in our lifetime that’s really trying to slam people towards negativity and if you're always hearing about the war and you're always hearing about this not and there's always something so it’s nice to just be able to get one-stop shop for happy news.
Carrie Webb: Yeah, and then when you are at the water cooler you're not talking about those kind of negative things because you bring into the atmosphere really, so if you need—
Robbie Ferguson: How nice it would be to have picked up a story like here's a six-year-old boy who saves his mother’s life. So you know read over that. You learn that and people are talking about this nut at the water cooler learning—oh here's something for you, you might brighten someone’s day with some stuff that you find on HappyNews.com and they do also have RSS so if you would like to subscribe to it with your news reader you'll be able to subscribe to HappyNews.com, Robbie’s favorite for this week.
Carrie Webb: Excellent, so if you need to retreat from the stress at the office and find your happy place now you have somewhere to go. I'll be checking that out for sure.
Robbie Ferguson: Now, this happy place doesn’t involve curling up into fetal position in corner and weeping.
