I want to say adios and goodbye to CircuitCity a.k.a. ‘how to run a business into the ground’. You know, I have never been a big fan of CircuitCity. I’ve shopped on and off for a number of years and I have truly, truly not surprised that they’re going out of business. If eve there was an electronic retailer who was mismanaged and ran into the ground, it was CircuitCity. Maybe some of you were now mourning for this defunct property , I am for one, not. I have always felt they were mismanaged and out of touch with their costumers.
My basis on the following things; one, I’ve always found the CircuitCity stores that I’ve visited to be limited in selections of products. I found their prices to be normally at full MSRP because manufacturers suggest the retail price and the sale prices were spotty at best. Their sale policies were rather strange. So, they have high prices.
Their sales people clearly didn’t have a clue many, many times about the products they were selling. They weren’t trained, they were trained to sell maintenance contracts on whatever it is you bought, that is what they were trained to do to get you signed up for the CicuitCity credit card and get to used to buying extended more. That’s is what they were trained to do. The product now, it just seemed to me come dead last and that falls on to the category a high pressure sales tax. Even though they couldn’t sell, they would try all kinds of things to get you to buy.
You know, if you went in there for a big screen TV they would try to get to get this camcorder to go with or whatever. It just never seemed to me like they were focused on what I need rather than what they were trying to shove that day. Poor customer service, if you ever tried to get something retu8rned or repaired by CircuitCity, all I got to say is, good luck muchachas. They were tough organization to deal with. Repairs could take months to get done. It was awful; to be honest with you I'm not a bit of fan of BestBuy either but at least they have a much larger selection and at times decent prices.
For most major purchases, I visited a store in Indianapolis called Fries Electronics and they’ve got some few outlets over the U.S. they actually buffed the old and incredible universe, the radio shack and owned it one time. so, I used them. I shopped at web sites such as TigerDirect, Newegg, and for household appliances I tend to shop more of the local Mom & Pop retailers with a service history although I have purchased them places like Sam’s Club and Costco. So, I say adios CircuitCity, you went they way of comp. USA., the market has clearly spoken. You were bankrupt, chapter 11 back in November.
Personally I never gave you a chance in hell of making it and I told everybody so and I was right on calling the ball on CicutCity.
