Hazelnut Tea Cookies
Baking cookies was such an important part of my childhood and Christmas cookies were part of my mothers upbringing too and especially this hazelnut tea cookies. The secret of the robust flavor is in the hazelnuts and vanilla. They’re the perfect caterer to your holiday meal or a great idea for your cookie exchange. To start it off, you just take some all purpose flour adding about a teaspoon of table salts. Go ahead, sift it, and then start to whip up some butter. It was a quite a bit two sticks, get them to room temperature and then you’re just going to whip them up until they’re nice, light and fluffy. It will take about three minutes.
There we go, the butter is nice and light and fluffy. Now, it’s time to add in the powdered sugar and the vanilla. We need about a cup of powdered sugar, a tablespoon of vanilla, so now we’ve take this and whip it up until it gets even fluffier, there we go. It’s nice and then incorporated, and now we’re going to add in about half of the hazelnuts. We’re going break up this hazelnuts into their almost paste like, so that you get two levels of hazelnut flavor.
We’re going to add in a salt and flour. Half of it then mix and then have the rest. Now add in the rest of those hazelnuts. This is a very easy cookie dough. You can even have the kids help out on this one. We’re just going to take about a tablespoon for each cookie and what’s really convenient for this is an ice cream scooper. Go ahead and just fill up a baking sheet line in parchment paper. Last one, just put on the oven at 325 until they’re nice and golden brown like this on the bottom. These have been cooling about five minutes.
Now you finish them off. To do that, all you do is take a bowl powdered sugar throw a cookie in and just kind of toss it around, so it gets nice and coated, and it’s simple as that. Go ahead and personalized this recipe as you like. It’s a nice butter tea cookie that’s perfect during the holiday season.
