Health Benefits of Drinking Coffee

Simon: Hi, my name is Simon, I am from Old Town, Maine and I was wondering are there any health benefits to drinking coffee?

Roberta Lee: Simon, there are some health benefits to drinking coffee, believe it or not. If a person is drinking somewhere between three and six cups of coffee a day, numerous studies have shown that Parkinson's disease can be reduced. Additionally, recent studies have shown that type 2 diabetics and sorosis of the liver, that's fibrosis of the liver organ is significantly reduced consuming somewhere between three and six cups of coffee.

I would like to say that there are some caveats. In other words if you have hypertension you really want to watch your blood pressure while you are drinking coffee and as you know coffee is a diuretic, it has caffeine in it and this may prematurely dehydrate you. Some people after two or three cups of coffee will also feel very anxious and it's because the amount of caffeine they are consuming is too much for them. So you have to waive all of these things when you are thinking about having your cups of coffee.
