Cynthia Sass: Flaxseed oil is pressed from flax seed which comes from a plant native to the
Mediterranean. It actually has two kinds of good fats, MUFA’s and another type
called omega 3 fatty acids. Most of us aren’t getting enough of either one. Flax oil
adds a mild nutty flavor to smoothie’s fruit salads and salad dressing. Just be sure
not to heat it which breaks down the healthy fat. And here is another tip: look for
it in the refrigerated section of your store, keep it cold and use it within about 30
days of opening. I always write the date on the label so I don’t forget. Now, it’s
incredibly healthy but it’s very delicate, it goes bad quickly, so keep it
refrigerated, remember that date and also remember one table spoon is all you
need.
