Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak: Hi I'm Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak registered dietitian with International Food Information Council. Today we are talking about how to help your diet survive at the office; the next topic we are talking about is eating in social occasions.
How do I stay on a healthy eating plan when my colleagues are not?
Not everyone is in at the same place at the same time with regard to their health or the diet. So it's important to recognize that allow your colleagues may not share your same goals. A great scenario is when that you are in an office setting were you actually feel really comfortable telling your office mates that you are trying something new you are trying and improve your health, and that you hope that they support you in this new effort.
And that you may never walk you know you are not going to push your views on them certainly, but some people might actually feeling to me by that bad you might actually get some negative response people saying, hey you used eat this with me, used to go here with me, now you are not doing that any more what's your problem or you used to love this why don't you want to eat this kind of food anymore, or why you are not being any fun, no that, that can happened and my be those people wish that they could actually be doing the same thing your work.
So know that there are certain people in your life whether its your office mates or even family members or friends that are going to be supportive about your new goals related to your diet, and some people may not make sure that you recognize the people who are supportive and turn to those people when you need extra motivation or when you just need slap on the back good job.
