Hearty Steak Soup
When you call something Steak Soup to a guy, let me tell you, he’s all over that so it’s also you know, it’s exactly what it is, it’s soup with steak in it and that’s what we’re going to do. So we got some olive oil down to start our Steak Soup into our pot right here. And what I want to do is get the onion in, so I can get it nice and tender and start giving some flavor to that oil before I heat it with all the rest of love.
And just use half of your onion because—maybe date at night. You know, maybe guys want to talk to each other later. Alright, get that right into our oil and I’m just going to let these tenderize and sautéed up. And get nice and tender for our steak soup which is a crowd pleaser but were only worried about one man right now. Alright, so these are going to get nice and tender. So the garlic powder thyme, cumin, that’s it. And then right on top of that some salt, goes in as well. And what you want to do is just get some black pepper and crack it right in. And this is the rub that’s going to go on the top of our lemon broil.
Now of course this is the top round the plain steak just as good. I love this cut when I get a little bit olive oil on it right here and then just going to rub it in. We’re going leave this out on a counter and I just going to let it sit in all of this love right here. Your garlic powder, salt and pepper and there you go. It’s not too bad. Massage it and get it ready for our Steak Soup. I love the story about shortcut of our already slice mushrooms so easy and so fast. Alright, these are in, make sure that oil coats it completely, one clove of garlic right down into our pot and this going to create a great base for your soup. Any soup really but today it’s our steak soup, alright.
Now I’ve got my grill right here preheating. It has been preheating for a minute because I want to hit this with some beautiful grill marks before I even slice it up and get into our steak soup, alright. So I’m going to grill this one in both sides with some pickled Jalapenos all sliced up and in the jar, great over nachos even better in our steak soup here. And then I’ve got some crushed tomatoes and not going to get the entire can in but I don’t have to make it nice in tomato-y. Alright now I want to put some beef stock on. I love having stock in the can, I don’t care in the carton and this entire carton goes in about four cups and that’s good to go. We’re just going to cover this up and turn it up. And let it start to simmer. This is our London broil a.k.a Flank Steak a.ka. Round.
Oh, baby look at that! That char is something unbelievable. That’s going to slice up so yummy. Let’s cut my slices down to size so they are bite worthy for our Steak Soup and look at how beautiful that is medium rare, don’t cook it all the way it through and get some spinach out right before your man said it’s time to eat and get it right into your soup so it can wilt, alright. Give a little bit of a stir, there we go and add some salt and pepper. Good to go and open up my little tortilla chip bag and crinkle it right over the top. Like I said this is almost like you know tortilla soup but this is a tortilla soup with an emphasis on meat and spinach.
Alright, we got to get some sour cream on there as well and give this a taste. Alright.
