Imagine a shovel that so big that it needs four giant wheels just to roll a lot of ground. Now, add a huge engine and you have a scraper.

A scraper is used for large earth-moving projects where dirt needs to be loaded and hauled up to different locations on the job site, sort of a huge sub-loading dump truck. Because they can do so much dirt at once, sometimes a dozer will push from behind. Some scrapers have power wheels, which help to shovel the dirt into the scraper bowl and a big plate that pushes the dirt back out when it is full. A dump truck that loads itself, pretty cool.
