Elad: Hi, my name is Elad.
Gabriel: My name is Gabriel. We have a company called Bar Lab.
Elad: We’ve been mixing cocktails in Miami Beach for over a decade.
Gabriel: Miami Beach has a cocktail culture of its own.
Elad: And we are to show you what it’s all about.
Gabriel: This is Miami Beach cocktail culture.
So Elad, what do you got for us.
Elad: I made a traditional Hemingway Daiquiri with fresh lime, a little
bit grapefruit juice, maraschino liqueur and white rum.
Gabriel: And you want to do a twist.
Elad: Yeah absolutely. What I’m going to do, I’m going to take some
kumquats. Kumquats are Chinese oranges. I’m going to take a
couple of raspberry, fresh raspberries.
Gabriel: Nice.
Elad: And I’m going to model it.
Gabriel: The great theme about the Hemingway Daiquiri was a cocktail that
was really in Havana, Cuba by Ernest Hemingway and it was
named after him because he has so many of them that he love
drinking. So he loved the drink so much that it was named after
him.
Elad: Yeah and the twist that we’re going to do is going to be the fresh
raspberry, the kumquats, a little bit maraschino liqueur, just a drop
like a quarter ounce and then of course I’m going to use white rum.
Gabriel: A little bit of color too so that would be great.
Elad: Absolutely and I’ll put a little bit more.
Gabriel: Yeah put a little bit more.
Elad: So we’re just going to double strain it and look at this man, what a
beautiful color and I think we’re going to garnish it with some lime
twist.
Gabriel: Beautiful.
Elad: And that’s the Bar Lab twist.
Gabriel: That’s a great cocktail. I’m going to keep my traditional
Hemingway Daiquiri.
Elad: And I’m going to keep my contemporary as well. That’s definitely
part of Miami Beach cocktail culture.
Gabriel: Cheers.
Elad: Cheers.
