George: This is George from Centerville, Ohio. I wanted to know about the safety concerns of taking a herbal medicine for Erectile Dysfunction. Anne Moore: I can tell you that in general as someone who practices evidence based medicines, I tend to advice folks to steer away from herbals, botanicals and anything that you by over-the-counter without a prescription, because we really don't know what's in those compounds. The FDA supervises what is in prescription medications and follows those for safety and efficacy, and when you look at herbals and over-the-counter medications, you have no concept of what's in there, whether they are safe or whether they are going to work.
