Hereditary Nature of Asperger's Syndrome Asperger himself speculated, I mean, he speculated and he said that often the conditions seem to run in families. He speculated there was kind of familial basis that could be genetic, or it could be from learning in the environment. We need to do a lot more work, but it does look like there’s some very strong genetics to Asperger’s Syndrome and there is probably some connection to autism.
