What’s up guys? How it’s going? Today, I’m going to show you pretty much a couple of hidden features on a 3.0 software Firmware and after using the 3.0 Firmware for a while, probably come to like it a lot although, I do miss my Jail Breaker 2.2.1 and I still have not grab back to Jail Breaking but 3.0 is great, a lot of nice new features and there are also a lot of great features that not so many people know about or some features that don’t really get the same amount of attention as like copy and paste and landscape texting. So I’m here to show you those cool hidden features I guess you can say so here we go.
First off, yes I do take that picture while I was on vacation, beautiful I know, but I’m going to show you a new hidden feature in the iPod or Music App, and what it is, is song scrolling okay. First off, let me just go to a song that I know exactly the lyrics. Alright, so here you go. You’ve got this right? So let me just zoom in real quick, so you guys see that little boot there where you suggest go and scroll to whatever point in “y” but now there are actually some words there which says, “Slide your finger down to adjust the scrubbing rate.”
This is adjustable song scrolling rate, so you can add it and have it in hi-speed so you can go fast to the end or to the middle. Hi-speed which is a little bit slower but still pretty fast. Quarter speed which is more fine and in your fine scrubbing which is to go like up every second. Fine scrolling goes up a second once you go pretty fast, but it’s only up a second. Quarter speed goes up like two seconds, that’s really close to five, so it’s hard to tell the difference, set the mode a little bit faster, and then you have half speed which is pretty fast, and then hi-speed which is just to scroll again and such alright.
So, yeah that’s adjustable song scrolling. This is great, I notice this as soon as I’ve got 3.0 so you guys might have known this and I like it a lot. I used it a lot because if I want to go to my favorite part of the song or just skip to a part that’s really funny in a comedy show or something like that even in movies. Let me show you right here. I love you, Beth Cooper which is awesome movie. It works in movies also, so here we go. I take that back. I guess it does not work in movies. This is just her song then, sorry guys I trick you there. It’s my fault, but yeah, that’s to show you how Beth Cooper looks like, great movie I’ve got it from EntertainmentStuff.com, that’s what I did.
So, next I’m going to be showing you pretty much something that isn’t that important, but it can be very useful. And if you go to messaging or just actually go to notes, I can show you some new special characters that have been added unto messaging and pretty much just typing, so if you go to question mark one, two, three and hold onto the period button you’ll get three dots or one. Three dots is for like, “Hey I just found out blah-blah-blah” or what if you want like for dramatic effect or whatever what you do that’s what triple dots for.
Also, if you look at the quotation marks hold the quotation marks and you got a lot of different special characters. You get the other quotation you get some high ones, some low ones and some Aeros which is pretty cool, and also the dash has a long kind of dialog dash which I found pretty cool, and also if you hold this and then roll down to this something happens, zero has a different number also for like Fahrenheit I believe, but yeah, I’m kind of like weighing it with the whole special care because I’m still learning about for it that’s pretty much some of the new hidden features for messaging.
Also, a new thing is that if you go to Messaging App and I set up a little text message going on here okay, so you guys can see. You have calling contact info and also an edit button up there. This used to be just clear all I believe, but now in the edit button you have a choice of selecting any of the text that you have done so far, and you can also just clear all at the top. Let’s just say I click on the first one and the third one. I can delete those two or I can forward it to a friend. So if I want to just delete this which is the new hidden feature is deleting text messages individually which is great for hiding things or for just getting rid of something that you don’t like to see.
Once again, you do that or I can just say forward, post up new message, the message that are right there, and you just go and type in the number that you want, put in, great it works out perfectly. I love this.
Let’s see, what are the hidden features. Another hidden feature is various amount ways to get the spotlight. You can go to Settings, go to General and click on the Home and then here you have to Double Click the Home Button to go for either your Home Screen Spotlight which just search Phone Favorites as I have it camera or iPod.
While I was in vacation I had it on camera because I’ll figure tall pictures. I took like 400 pictures just to my phone alone because I’ll just double time the Home Button, shot the picture there you go, and we have really much service out there, so Phone Favorites was really important, but now that I’m home I have a separate Phone Favorites, but like I said before if I go to General, Home and click on Search, now if I double click the Home Button you will see it goes to Search.
Now if I tap the lower left corner on the Home Screen it goes to Search or if just swap I think it goes to Search or if I just click Home once it goes to Search. Those are just some other ways to get to your Spotlight Search.
Another thing that I found really cool was in the Safari App, so here we go. Maybe at Phone Blog loading up here, and here we have a nice column on the Ultimate iPhone Hacker Championship alright, so if we scroll down and find a link like let’s just say, the next post if I hold that button, if I hold that link I’ll get three and actually four new options. The three options that I made options here, or you can either to open it straight up in the same page or you can open it in the new page which should be opening a new tab in Safari. You can copy this link which is posted up there and send in a message, e-mail, notes whatever or you can just cancel out. But if I want to hold that open a new page it will open it in a new tab as you can see, and it loads up perfectly.
Alright, so that’s pretty much it for that and lastly I’m going to show you a really interesting thing that I like to use a lot. Go back to Safari and let’s just say it’s set in up buggy right? It’s actually where your new notes going on. It’s frozen. You tap it in nothing is happening, alright. If you want to force quit this unresponsive App, hold the slide point button until you get the power symbol, and then you don’t want to let go and just hold the Home Button, continue holding. Actually that goes just what it’s taking it longer, and then you guys can see it stops and then you force quit it which is really nice alright.
So while I am putting my hand I’m going to show another cool new feature and that is shape undo typing. I love this feature. I have used it accidentally a couple of times and it actually deleted some of my stuff which got me very furious, but I forgot one of the other cool part about shake to undo, so you saw I just typed that but to rub a stuff, shake undo typing or I don’t want to delete that, shake again, redo typing that’s awesome, or hold on, select all, copy, return.
I could shake undo typing actually we home it now for it’s the first. Paste I could shake, undo the paste or I can select all and cut and I can also shake, undo the cut. You can also undo other things and it’s very helpful and really good to use.
