Anthony: Welcome to the Art of the Drink video podcast. My name is Anthony Caporale. And, we are back in the studio for Valentine’s Day with our new February Drink Art girl, Krista.
How are you Hon?
Krista: I am good, how are you?
Anthony: Good! Thank you so much for working with us.
Krista: Thank you.
Anthony: All right, so we have Valentine’s Day. We are going to do a brand new type of drink that we developed right here on the Art of the Drink called the His-n-Hers.
Basically, it is two separate drinks that are both really awesome, but they are even better after you take a sip and kiss the other person. You got to do like a real kind of nice make out kiss and get of those flavors together, really works good.
But, again, this is something that we just kind of made up here for Valentine’s Day in order to drink. So, do not go to your local bartender and ask for His-n-Hers and expect them to know what it is. All right—I know you work at the bar too. I cannot stand when the people will come up and order something like the horny penguin or something like that and look at me like I am crazy when I do not know what it is and it is a nonsense drink that some bartender has been made up when they were headed on them one night.
So, if you want this drink, you got to have to remember how I am telling you to make it and go describe it to your bartender.
So, we are going to start—I am going to do the His version and I am going to have you to do the Hers version. The His version is a real simple, it is just a rocks drink and I am going to start with the rocks glass and fill it with ice.

All right, all over with ice, and I am going to start with two ounces of Vanilla Vodka. All right, and this drink is based on a Black Russian, which is Vodka and Kailua. Instead of a regular vodka, I started with Vanilla Vodka, and instead of Kailua, I am going to use Hazelnut Liquor.
So, two ounces of Vanilla Vodka, one ounce of Hazelnut Liquor, and then all I do is just roll it into my tin, swirl around, and back in the glass, put in a little stir, and that is the His part. So, so far, we have vanilla and hazelnut for our flavors.
Now, I want you have to do, the Hers part, ready to give a try?
Krista: Yes.
Anthony: All right.
Male: Each week, our Art of the Drink video podcast prize package will consist of A Maker’s Mark apron, a copy of my Art of the Drink Volume One, Bar Essentials DVD, and a limited edition version of That Special Touch, a Maker’s Mark cookbook, not available in stores.
Anthony All right, first thing, let us start with our glassware. Let us set our glassware. So, let us get that martini glass up, and I am actually going to start this off with—you put some hearts on there because it is the Valentine’s Day, all right.
Krista: Okay.
Anthony: You can do whatever you want, but we figured what the heck.
[Demonstration]
All right, so that just gives a little chocolate base. So, because it is a martini, we are going ahead and build it in the tin, so, let us start with a big scoop of ice in the tin.
Krista: Okay.
[Demonstration]
Anthony: Awesome! And, one ounce of Raspberry Vodka.
Krista: Okay.
[Demonstration]
Anthony: Perfect! And, we are going to do one ounce of Dark Crème De Cacao, which is a chocolate flavor liqueur.
Krista: Okay.
[Demonstration]
Anthony: Perfect! Now, we have one more ingredient and it is actually half-and-half, but I do not want to put the half-and-half in quite yet, because we are going to shake this drink and that is going to froth it up too much so go ahead and shake it now.
Krista: Okay
Anthony: All right, and one hand on top of the glass, one hand on the bottom of the tin, and shake it up until it frosts real good.
[Demonstration]
Awesome! All right, so one ounce of half-and-half is going to finish this off.
[Demonstration]
Good! And now, I want you to just swirl it around a little bit, you do not even need that, just swirl it around a little bit. All right, all I am going to do is just chill the half-and-half, I do not want—with any air bubbles
