Nathalie: Brenda and I are going to quickly show you how to make layered jar, we are
going to make oatmeal cookie recipe and we have attached will tag that tells the
recipient of the gift just to damped everything in bowl they just need to add there
liquid and they’re ready to make some cookies.
Brenda: So, I’m so excited to make this.
Nathalie: So, we’re going to----we premature a lot of our ingredients here and you can find
this recopies all over the internet, there are cookbooks that are dedicated just to
this kind of gifts. So Brenda’s got first cup of brown sugar in its pack and she’s
going to break it up and put into the jar. Half a cup of sugar then we’re going to
add three force cup of raisins.
Brenda: So the use of that cookbook are actually shows you how to make this so you’re
getting the right amount to put into the jar.
Nathalie: Right, I tell you like a little recipe, and they’re just---- it’s all gift giving recipes.
Brenda: Oh so cute.
Nathalie: Yeah and when you are a layered jar like this especially with baking ingredients
it’s important to kind of mashing down when you get them in there. We probably
will not do that today just for time sake but if you want everything to fit in your
jar that’s an important to that. Now, things that are layered like the beans, soup
you don’t have to obviously match things on you just stir over there and they kind
a level themselves out. Okay, so you shake around and then you add a half cup of
sugar.
Brenda: So this is already a half cup right?
Nathalie: That’s a half cup right there, and then you just kind a shake that brown so that it
will make its own layer there you go. And then ¾ cups of raisins so you can use
margarine and it’s got some sugar in there.
Brenda: Okay.
Nathalie: So next are the oats and were going to add two cups of those so that’s four and
that’s a lot. And then and the last thing that we’re going to add after the oats is
this premix twelve in here is a cup of all purpose flour. 140 spoons of cinnamon, a
half a teaspoons nutmeg, one teaspoon of baking soda and of course a two spoon
of salts.
Brenda: How oat the whole bowl?
Nathalie: Yeah the whole thing.
Brenda: Leave it to me and I’m sure known and better to ask to do this.
Nathalie: That’s alright. And this is also a great gift to put together with your kids because
you are not really---- you can kind to make a mashing it but it doesn’t matter but
you’re not using cutlery or you know anything, no liquid. Okay and put your wet
on and you’ve got a really cool looking gift for someone and a yummy one.
Brenda: That’s awesome. So that’s it Nathalie.
Nathalie: Yeah, we’re put in our coffee cozies to use.
Brenda: Yeah.
Nathalie: I’ve got mine around my mug.
Brenda: I love this, I actually feels like low sweater around my coffee or my tea.
Nathalie: Keeping your coffee warm. So, I love this jar super cute, I actually would like to
put that to you if you don’t mind.
Brenda: Certainly and we hope that you enjoyed this economical gifts. If you have any
questions about the project we put together today please let us know
